Agbogbloshie Bath Bomb

There's no denying that mobile technology has quite literally taken over the planet - from the way we socialise, the lives we live and just about every aspect of our living, breathing existence. It's a rare assurance to find yourself in a public place and not see near-on everyone scrolling away on their phones, and most people seem to upgrade their devices more frequently than there are full moons. But where do all of the unwanted mobiles go after you've recycled yours and walked out with a new model?

Agbogbloshie Bath Bomb is not only a sign of the times, but of the changes that Lush themselves have implemented over the last twelve months. While they have always created products that sit outside of the box, and celebrated the 'weird and wacky' with some of the names of their products, it's only been recently that they've released a select few gimmicky products to appeal to the masses.

Shaped like a mobile phone, this bath bomb is a gentle reminder of the waste that goes on behind mass production, whilst also offering up one of the most beautiful bathing experiences I have had in a while. Sharing its scent with Calacas, this Summit exclusive offers a bright, zesty helping of lime oil, with a powdery, fruity sweetness that brings the summer back into any bath tub lucky enough to house one.

My initial reaction was that the colour of this doesn't really suit the fragrance that comes with it. While the lime is refreshing and uplifting, the shade of blue is rather more cooling on the senses. Yet, Agbogbloshie just worked, and I found myself celebrating the juxtaposition of both the colours and smells. The fact that the bath bomb created such a beautifully deep and very vivid shade of blue was enough to bowl me over very quickly.

Truth be told, I found this bath bomb to be stronger in scent than both Monsters' Ball and The Enchanter, and there was something very rounded about its fruitiness that made it far more appealing. In fact, if this bath bomb was designed slightly differently and wasn't slightly cheesy to look at, I would say that this might well become my favourite out of the three.

While the bath bomb dissolved super quickly, I was impressed with how softening the water felt against my body, and within a matter of seconds my skin felt super moisturised and nourished. The oil-like swirls on the surface indicated that this was going to be far more moisturising than most bath bombs, and I wasn't wrong in thinking that.

What also stood out to me about Agbogbloshie was that the fragrance stayed with me throughout the duration of the bath, and lingered gently on my skin for a short time afterwards. I found that I could still detect the smell in my bathroom for an hour or two after the water had drained, to the annoyance of my partner who is not a particular fan of this scent family.

Unfortunately, the very nature of this bath bomb design makes it harder to transport around easily without breakages, and mine arrived on my doorstep in several pieces. For this reason, I hope that Lush reformulate it slightly, if they plan on bringing it out, so that it is a little more robust. Despite its crumbly nature, I really enjoyed the experience of using this and I would definitely buy it again, if the opportunity came about.
