Turmeric Latte Bath Bomb

Up until a few years ago, I had never even tried more than a few sips of coffee, simply because I didn't enjoy the taste at all. However, upon discovering the subtleness of lattes, as well as making Cup 'O 'Coffee a staple product in my daily routine, I began to appreciate the warmth that a good cuppa can have on both your mental and physical state.

Although I tend to shy away from too much caffeine in my diet, I made an exception when I decided to share my tub with Lush's brand new Turmeric Latte Bath Bomb. Not only were turmeric lattes my favourite (not so) guilty pleasure, turmeric itself has become very trendy in recent months, and I fancied myself as a bit of a connoisseur.

As far as designs go, Tumeric Latte is simply beautiful to look at: a golden yellow outer layer with a delicate etching of golden lustre to add a beautiful shimmer to the surface of the bath bomb. While definitely not as vibrant as turmeric powder naturally is, the colour of this replicates the creamy, caramel-like shade that a regular latte would be served as.

Upon contact with the water, the bath bomb at first begins to bob on the surface and release thick, creamy rivers of white and yellow foam. As it dissolves further, Turmeric Latte starts to move around the water: twisting and turning while a vibrant golden colour leaves patterns across the surface.

A fairly slow fizzer, this bath bomb also happens to be rather quiet as well, which is perfect for creating that relaxing atmosphere you want when using one of these. Once the bath bomb has fully dissolved, you're left with a beautiful golden yellowy-brown water that shimmers and sparkles with the lustre that swirls around under the surface.

Although I wouldn't usually appreciate a bath bomb that creates water anywhere near the shade of brown, or perhaps even yellow, the whole process of using Turmeric Latte allows you to appreciate that this shade of water has to come with the territory. Because you know you're brewing a bath-sized beverage to bathe in, there is far more acceptance for the resulting colour than there would normally be. In my experience at least.

Although the fragrance isn't as powerful as some of Lush's other recent releases, the power behind this one actually comes from the fact that it's more delicate and gentle. Warming tonka and vanilla absolute gives this bath bomb a wonderful powdery aroma; while the inclusion of the turmeric powder adds a strangely but delicately sweet herbal aroma.

To my nose, there is also something slightly floral about the smell, but this is probably the most subtle note of the bath bomb, and definitely doesn't offer much in the way of scent. Alongside all of the above notes, there is also something that hints at both coffee and chocolate, although both of these components are very gentle.

This is not a bath bomb that's going to blow you away by its potency - instead it'll wrap itself around you like a comforting blanket and smother your worries away with its warming embrace. Even consumers who dislike the potency of coffee smells may learn to appreciate how delicate the aroma of this bath bomb is.

As if this wasn't enough, the inclusion of the coconut milk powder makes this one of the most moisturising bath bombs that Lush currently offer in stores. Not only does it calm your skin, it leaves your body incredibly smooth and soft: I could feel how much this ingredient replenished my skin within minutes of submerging myself beneath the water.

Ultimately, this is the perfect way to enjoy a coffee without actually consuming any caffeine. Turmeric Latte will leave your skin feeling beautiful and nourished and your mind feeling well and truly rested. Move out of the way Starbucks, this has become my new favourite order.
