Lush Cocktails

It's cocktail time!

Having tried most of Lush's bath products, 2015 is the year that I spruce up my bath time and begin my journey into the land of the cocktail. Having seen pictures and read reviews on many of the wonderful collaborations that other Lush fans have tried, I want to get in on the action and concoct the best Lush Cocktail of all time.

And this is where I need your help....

Throughout the whole of 2015, I will be testing out Lush cocktails that you suggest, rating them out of 10 and entering them onto a leaderboard. On December 1st 2015, the person at the top of the scoreboard will win £100 to spend on Lush products and a runner up will receive £40 to do the same.

All you have to do is recommend me a cocktail recipe in the comments below and wait for me to try it, film it and rate it! There's no limit to how many cocktails you suggest, just please be aware that it may take me a while to try them all out!

You can suggest personal favourites that you have tried yourself or use your imagination to concoct ones that you think will be pretty damn amazing!

The rules are as follows:

1. Your cocktail can only contain a maximum of 5 products.
2. Every product in your cocktail must be from Lush (obviously!).
3. You can use shower gels, jellies, bubble bars, melts, bath bombs or pretty much any product you like in your cocktail - there's really no limit when it comes to what you can suggest.
4. Your suggestions can include regular, seasonal and limited edition products - just be aware that if you suggest something that I don't have, I won't be able to try it out! Check out my post on my Lush Collection 2014 to get an idea of what I currently own.
5. All the products in the cocktail must be vegan.
6. When you submit a suggestion, you must give your cocktail a name. While this won't influence my rating, the more appealing the name, the more likely it is that I'll try it out!

I'll be videoing these experiences and updating this page regularly so check back to see if yours has been tested and to keep tabs on the leaderboard. Even if you don't have any suggestions, come back soon - you may just discover some interesting new cocktails that you'd like to try out yourself!

Last night after posting my first ever tried lush cocktail, I went to take a bath and used three different lush products. And my GOD I left my bath feeling like an alluring siren. The three products a I used were; SEX BOMB BATH BOMB, CERIDWEN`S BATH MELT and KARMA BUBBLE BAR.

  2. I call this one 'after midnight'
    Half a twilight balllistic
Half a french kiss bubble bar (I sometimes use bathos if available)
    Ooh la la soap.
Potent yet calming. Relax and let the lavender cast its spell.

  7. Thanks so much! The pedicures started because when I first fell in love with Lush, I didn't have a nice bathtub to soak in. Now I just do the pedicures because I love them (and so do my parents!)

    Here's another one for you:

A Starry Citrus Wonder (another LUSH Pedicure, though this would work great as a bath as well. If you do it as a bath, I would scale up the amounts)

    - Start with Ocean Salt Scrub Self-Preserving (the other version isn't vegan)
    - Mix 1/4-1/3 of Golden Wonder Bath Bomb with 1/3-1/2 of Star Light Star Bright Bath melt and soak!
    - Apply either Shades of Earl Grey or Each Peach and Two's a Pair Massage Bar (depending on what you like better and what you have available - I love both equally)
    - Finish up with First Snow dusting powder

    Enjoy!

  8. First melt Ceridwen's cauldron bath melt into the bath as its soothing and moisturising qualities will start the bath off with a luxury bang!
Use half of a Twilight bath bomb to add a beautiful lavender fragrance and pretty colours to the bath.
Then crumble half of a Rose Jam bubbleroon into the bath. Because obviously this makes BUBBLES and I am in LOVE with the Rose Jam fragrence.
Use Porridge soap to wash with because it's gentle, subtle smell won't conflict with the rose and lavender smell. Apply it directly to the skin so that the oats can gently exfoliate and compliment the Ceridwen's cauldron moisturising.
Lastly, use the Oatifix fresh facemask so that everywhere is soft and pampered (you can't forget the face!) and sit back and relax while it does it's stuff.
This is perfect for relaxing. Especially if you grab a drink and light a few candles (I like yankee candle fireside treats with this).
I'm gonna call this, A Floral Twilight Treat.

    I hope you enjoy! x

  9. The Cookie Monster Facial:
    - Apply with Baby face cleanser to face (a little chocolate...)
    - Layer Oatfix mask onto baby face and allow to sit for as long as you like (with a few oats...)
    - Wash mask off using Let the Good Times Roll (and a little buttery caramel...)
    - Moisturizer with Celestial (for some almonds and vanilla..)
    - Finish off with either Sweet Lips Lip Scrub (more chocolate!) or EggSnog lip blame (for a little spice) depending on your mood...

Now try to resist the urge to bake a batch of cookies :)

  13. Secret Blue and White Garden
This cocktail makes me feel like I am in a Secret Garden lol
Secret Garden bath bomb (from the Mother's Day range)
    White Shower Gels
Blue Fun (to enhance the floral smelling and bubbles!)
*Optional Ma Bar (to make the cocktail bit touch of sweetness)
With or without the Ma Bar the cocktail already smells sweet in my opinion!
I realised from your collection that you are out of Secret Garden.
Hopefully if the bath bomb reappeared again, you will get the chance to try this cocktail!

  15. I tried this this morning and it was amazing
    half a golden wonder
    1 snow angel melt
    A squeeze of hot toddy
I lathered up my sponge with snowcake soap and added a little hot toddy to wash with.
This is very reminiscent of christmas cake with the golden wonder adding the citrus and spice, the hot toddy adding the alcohol and the snow angel topping it off with sweet marzipan. I love the smell of christmas cake but not so much the taste. This cocktails allows me to indulge. I will call it 'Christmas cake'

  104. 'Mind, Be Good to Me' :

Violet Nights (Ultraviolet Bubble Bar if you don't have Violet Nights)
    The Comforter
Happy Blooming (There isn't really an alternative... But I'd use Cerdwin's Cauldron or Dreamtime if I didn't have Happy Blooming)

(^^ The Comforter Gel/Yummy Mummy Body Conditioner is optional in Mind, Be Good to Me :P)

I've got looooads of other combos but that one is my favourite. I find it really relaxing and the fragrances combined really is a treat. It goes well! I was in a bad place when I tried this combo.. I'd just lost my great papa which is why I named it 'Mind, Be Good to Me' because my mind wasn't in a positive place and this really made me feel better than what I'd been feeling day in day out.

You could also try this one I call it; 'In the Summertime' inspired by the song In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry.. This combined fragrance reminded me of where I vacationed every summer, it smelled like everything rolled into one. Sunscreen of sunbathers, the nature smell of trees and grass, the beachy smell... It's just something you would have to try yourself! Here it is:
    A bit of Bubblegrub,
A bit of Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds,
A bit of Yuzu and Cocoa
    Bunch of Carrots
    Big Blue bath bomb

    ------

    'Strike Midnight Cinder-Ella'

    Ultraviolet Bubble Bar
    Golden Egg
Yummy Mummy SG and Body Conditioner
    Kerbside Violet Perfume

I know Cinderella has always been kind of blue and gold colours... But I just couldn't deny how amazingly princess like this bath is. I had a late night bath after staying up for hours doing coursework and the sparkling gold flickers and odd silver sparkles from Ultraviolet made the water look so RICH! I felt the toffee scent related to the bell of the ball who's unmistakably gorgeous and drew all eyes... Kind of like when Cinderella turned up at the ball. And the violet... It was the other side to Cinderella's character who is still as beautiful but it's hidden behind a heavy barrier (dressed in rags, evil women etc) which I find with violet. It's so heavy but the sweetness shows through!

Let me know if you like any of these - I hope you do. Either that or I have a strange nose hahahah! But these three are honestly the best killer combos I've made! x

    '60s Serenity

1 'bump' of a Hottie massage bar
    1/2 a Space Girl
    1/2 a Phoenix Rising
    1/2 a Karma bubble bar

Melt the piece of Hottie under the hot tap, swirling the water around so that it's distributed. It will smell overpowering at this stage, but don't worry. When the bath is full, add the half ballistics and the bubble bar. Sink beneath the fragrant waters and travel back to the swingin' decade. Put on an early Beatles LP. Pretend that you remember it... or that you don't...

    Fluffy, glittering frosting:
    Sunnyside ( whatever amount )
Happy birthday bubble bar ( whatever amount )
Fluffy egg bath bomb ( whole )
    Melting marshmallow moment ( 1/2 )
    Godmother or rockstar soap

This cocktail is a sweet, glittery concoction that will appear a pinky coral colour, oozing with golden lustre. I hope you enjoy and if I could include a 6th product it would be snowfairy shower gel as it is sparkly and sweet

  138. Oh... Oh dear... Okay, NOW I've found the cocktails page... I hope you don't get individual notifications for posts; if that's the case I'm sorry for spamming you :( I just wanted to make sure it goes into the correct place. And it seems this is too long to fit into one post, drat.

Anyway, it's Amy Bowden (again...) from VLE and I'll just compile all the cocktails I've posted into one post. It's a good thing I saw this, because I didn't give a name to my first one!

I've put the hashtag symbol (#) to mean you can use more or less than what I did! It’s because I try to get as much use as possible out my items, but if you feel like using the whole thing in one go, go ahead! :P Ok, here we go:

    1. "Great British Bathe Off"
    - 1/2 Ma Bar #
    - 1/2 Christmas Angel bath melt
    - 1/2 Star Light Star Bright
    - 1 Golden Egg
(optional) Use some Hot Toddy to wash up!

The title is meant to be a play on words since to me and my mother, the resulting water smelled like a lemon drizzle cake. :D Once you introduce the hot toddy, the spice element transforms it into a hot cross bun kind of smell. This one was really nourishing thanks to the 3 different kinds of melts, and the smell lingered for hours afterwards!

    2. "Before Sunrise/After Sunset"
    - 1/2 Rose Jam bubbleroon #
    - a SMALL piece of Lonely Heart (roughly the size of a sugar cube, any more and I think it would dominate the smell of Rose Jam rather than compliment it.)
    - 1 Space Girl
    - 1/2 Star Light, Star Bright #

It was a tentative title I had created as I mixed all the water together, but I guess it's what I'll stick with, because it becomes a lovely peachy-orange colour with lots of sparkle, like when you can still see the stars before the sun rises and just before the sun has fully set. :) To boot, the scent lingered on my skin for hours afterwards, which I know is something you like to see in your products! :D

    2. "Spring Cleaning"
    - 1/2 Rose Jam bubbleroon #
    - a piece of Pink FUN (I used some for bubbles and the rest as soap)
    - 1/2 So White bath bomb #
    - 1 Hoppity Poppity
    - about 1/4 or 1/3 of Snow Angel bath melt # (it was a sample so I'm not sure but definitely less than half)

This is another one where the scent lingered afterwards, but sadly nowhere near as long as the first two. This one turned out a peachy-skin colour with sparkles and the smell reminded me of a combination of red berry fruit, bubblegum and cleaning products - but in a nice way! Not the horrible strong bleach kind of smell, just think of the niceness of walking into a room with a subtle scent of lemon or apple or that lovely fresh feeling associated with clean linen. It was a very comforting smell for me, perfect for a sunny Spring afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  139. And then for part 2:

    3. "Think Pink"
    - 1/3 Candy Mountain bubble bar #
    - Rose Jam shower gel (used as both soap and to top off the last of CM I had)
    - 1 Fluffy Egg
    - 1 Marshmallow Moment

I'm sure you can imagine the kind of bath this was... Definitely for those who are a fan of Lush's sweet-as-candy scents! It surprisingly wasn't too overpowering, I think thanks to the more subtle scent Creamy Candy holds over Snow Fairy, and capped off by the Rose Jam. Again this wasn't one that lingered very long on your skin (I mean other people could still smell it, but I stopped noticing it after about an hour). It was bright pink and had lovely subtle sparkles thanks to the bubble bar!

    4. "Black Hole"
    - 1/2 a Ma Bar #
    - 1/2 a Snow Angel bath melt
    - 1/2 a Star Light Star Bright
    - 1 Shoot For The Stars

I was aiming for the same scent as the first one. It wasn't quite as moisturising (it was still moisturising, of course! But given that Golden Egg has a layer of bath melt to boot... yeah.) and people think I'm crazy but I SWEAR the centre of my SFTS didn't smell like HIWTK! Maybe it was colour-psychology but it reminded me of raspberries, almost. I'd never tried a SFTS before this, so... The result was perfect for night time; dark purple-y pink water with lots of sparkle, and I felt like I was bathing in the deepest, darkest parts of space! This is the closest I've ever come to achieving a 'galaxy bath', though Before Sunrise/After Sunset is a close second.

These are all the ones I've made so far, I'll be sure to post more if I make any other nice ones, though! :D I'll admit all of these were accidents are luck... I just throw together whatever I have, haha! I've only been a hardcore Lushie for a few months, so I guess I'm off to a good start. :P

  141. Shoot, I don't think my other ones posted... I left a bunch of the competition page before finding your cocktails page! If you CTRL + f "Amy Bowden" you'll find them both - as for names [I'm pretty sure I forgot to name the first one, perhaps all of them] let me know which ones you might try and I'll name them!
    ANYWAY.

A lovely, LOVELY one I tried the other day, was also extremely straight-forward! I'll call it "Sunny Side Up".

    - For bubbles I used a chunk of gold FUN and Whoosh shower jelly, but that's only because that's all I had on hand at the time - I imagine this would work well with the Sunnyside bubble bar! (Which slightly inspired the name, if you couldn't tell. :P)
    - Aaaand then simply a Golden Egg and an Error 404!

For one thing I think I remember you saying in one review that you gravitate towards anything green. This one will turn your water the shade of Calacas jelly (or old sg)! As for the smell, it was really hard to pinpoint. All I can tell you is that it was sweet, floral and citrusy all at once! I guess because of the colour of the water, but aloe vera kept coming to mind.

Felt very moisturising thanks to the GE and as you can imagine, both bath bombs side-by-side in the tub put on one hell of a show in the tub! I would say this is probably best for a morning bath, though I used this in the early afternoon which was also lovely! =)

  149. Hi! Finally found the right place! (Sorry for the extra comments other places)

I've got a lovely cocktail that is one of my favourites. I adore rose smells and I think it's just absolutely so luxurious.

    Name: Wild Rose
1/2 Rose Jam Bubbleroon (I have a small tub, adjust accordingly)
A few squeezes of Rose Jam Shower Gel
1/2 Dragon's Egg (or full, again adjust accordingly).
1/2 a Rose Queen is optional if you want to introduce some lovely petals to the bath as well!

The Dragon's Egg really brings out the lemon in the bubbleroon and shower gel. It also has beautiful glitter so what more could you ask for?!

Bonus: Finish up with a rinse in the shower using Ro's Argan Body Conditoner and then Pearl Massage Bar for unbelievably silky and luxuriously scented skin.

  150. Hi!

Here's another slightly different one than my go to, but it is great for a different occasion. This is a great one either for summer when you want something light or for when you have a special someone over who's very stressed and you convince to take a bath but doesn't want to smell like your normal perfumed mix.

    Name: Big Boy Bubbles
1/2 Green Bubbleroon (or full depending on bath size)
    1/2 Big Blue Bath Bomb
Chunk of Floating Island Bath Melt- the lemon in this helps compliment the freshness of the other two

It's great for a man's skin (or anyone really) who may not take good care of it, isn't a girly colour, and is super fresh while infusing the bath with nurturing sandalwood and cocoa butter!

  151. Cocktail Name: Baby Blue
1/5 of blue skies and fluffy white clouds bubble bar
    Big calm shower jelly

I believe they are all vegan :)

Yes, the Lustre powder goes in the bath for this cocktail!! Sprinkle a half of a handful into the tub before you run the water. Then, right before you get in, give the bubbles a super light dusting of Luster powder (think cinnamon on a latte). everything else is standard procedure... I created this bath 3 years ago and it's still my go-to at least 3 times a week. I never thought to name it before tonight, though. Please let me know what you think!!

  179. My cocktail is one I discovered last night - I loved it!!
    Name: Summer Nights
Premise: A perfect cooling bath for a summer evening :)

    Ingredients:
    Blackberry Bath Bomb
    Pink Flamingo Reusable Bubble Bar
    Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly
    The Comforter Shower Cream

    Method:
Run a cooling bath (not too hot, a nice temperature to cool you down before you head off to bed) and use as much of the Pink Flamingo as you'd like. Add in a few drops of The Comforter and stir before turning the water off.
Add the Blackcurrant Bath Bomb and pop into the bath :) By now you should be feeling nice and relaxed. Wash yourself with a little of the Sweetie Pie shower Jelly and let the cooling bath relax you.

I find this works best if you've had a long day and need to cool down before bed. I also found that using orange scented candles worked quite nicely with it (even though they are not lush)

New Jersey Plains: 2 Big Blues (or a Big Big Blue), Half a Big Bang and a Oil on Troubled Waters.

I like to pop the massage bar into really hot water, let it melt, then put in the bath bombs. Once they've finished fizzing and have left a beautiful pattern, I maasage some dreamtime temple balm on and fnally switch off the lights, light my Inhale candle and then slip into the bath.
