After a long and hard week at work, I wanted a product that not only smelt delicious, but had a 'special something extra' that would perk me up and help to wash away the memories of the last five days; Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar was the product to do the job.
Sporting a wonderful and rather vibrant gold and orange exterior, this is a bathing companion that makes you feel instantly warmer, and that's only when you look at it. Although this bubble bar is a new product, it shares it's scent with a seasonal favourite, Mr Punch Soap. While I wasn't initially bowled over by the idea of this fragrance, my opinion was instantly reverted when I gave this product a sniff for the first time.
Concocted using juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oils, this bubble bar has a bright, zesty and rather unique aroma. The juniperberry is what gives this product it's strange smell - a vaguely fruity, slightly bitter and rather resinous aroma that reminds me very slightly of pine intertwined with a sweet, woody note.
Underneath this, the lime and grapefruit oils add a citrus note that helps to make this a very uplifting but equally grounded aroma. It's a very difficult smell to explain, but one that I would described as sultry, seductive and very sensual - it's a citrus fragrance for those who want something a little more sophisticated than the usual humdrum of lemon and lime scents.
Sparkly Pumpkin is big enough to be broken into two, and can be crumbled under the running tap to produce a tub full of light, fluffy scented bubbles. Although the bar looks like it's going to be messy with all of the glitter that has been used to coat the surface, it's surprisingly glitter free in the bath, and I didn't detect any of the lustre on my skin or the bath tub afterwards.
This bubble bar is noticeably less moisturising than other bars that I have used recently - neither the bubbles or the water were as silky soft as I would expect from these sorts of bars. However, it does leave you feeling squeaky clean and the wonderful aroma stays present throughout the entire bathing experience - resting on your skin and leaving you feeling well-pampered and beautiful afterwards.
Both the scent and autumnal orange colour that the water transforms into, makes this a really great bubble bar to use in the cold winter months. It offers a very sensual experience and one that is as comforting as a warm blanket and a mug of pumpkin spice. It's a great product to bridge the gap between the fruity Christmas products and the cinnamon-spiced ones - offering fans a chance to experience both scents in an interesting and comforting manner. A product that is well worth the investment.
