Leap Frog / Frog Prince Bath Bomb

Known as both Leap Frog and Frog Prince, this little cutie has been on my wish list for quite some time. Having acquired a couple of ancient ones a year back, I was disappointed with how terrible they performed in the bath but equally intrigued by the fading scent that accompanied them in the tub. When Lush announced that they would be coming back in the kitchen, I just knew I had grab a handful to enjoy.

This Valentine's Day special was first released a few years ago - winning hearts over with it's handsome, bright green demeanour and uplifting fragrance to boot. Designed to work as an aphrodisiac, this seasonal ballistic features an impressive range of butters and oils that not only stimulate warmth on your skin, but set your pulse racing for any potential night of romance that you may be considering.
Firstly, Lush have included the very popular jasmine absolute - a highly seductive fragrance that gives Leap Frog a wonderfully deep, sensual and rather warm floral aroma. It is the jasmine that gives this bath bomb a wonderful uplifting but rather powdery sweet flowery aroma - one that smells incredible and makes me wish that they'd make a dusting powder with this scent. Seriously, it would be amazing!

Underneath this is a layer of neroli which adds a sticky-sweet and rather fruity note to the experience - one that compliments the jasmine perfectly but adds it's own touch to the overall fragrance. Rose absolute builds upon the two previous ingredients and adds it's own layer of sophistication. While you can detect the element of rose in the aroma, it's a very light addition and doesn't have the overpowering properties that you'd normally find with other rose-scented Lush products.

While this is quite a difficult fragrance to describe, it's easily one of my favourite floral ones from Lush. To me, it's a little like Lust but without the overbearing jasmine scent. Instead, the jasmine and neroli create a sweet aroma that has a touch of fruit and a subtle undercurrent of sandalwood to round it all together perfectly.

In the bath, Leap Frog dissolves very quickly - spewing out bright lime green streams of colour that disperse themselves across the surface of the water. At the same time, his plump red lips dissolve alongside his body and pattern the green with streaks and swirls of scarlet. Once dissolved, a surprise love letter from the popular Peter warms your heart - a bonus that I much prefer to the 'Marry Me' note that came with the old design.
What makes this ballistic even more impressive are the droplets of cocoa butter and almond oil that decorate the surface of the bath. These essential oils help to make this an incredibly moisturising experience - even though the ballistic isn't as big or weigh as much as your average Lush bath bomb. My skin felt wonderfully soft and well-nourished once I had towelled myself down.

Once fully submerged, the neroli comes forward quite a bit in the mix and I found that the fruity element of the bath bomb was more prominent in the tub. Surprisingly, both the colour of the water and the wonderfully sensual scent stayed prominent throughout the full 45 minutes that I was in the tub. The jasmine was still there as well, albeit in the background, although it was this latter ingredient that left it's impression on the skin afterwards - giving your body a gentle aroma to carry with you throughout the evening.

For such a light ballistic, I was really impressed with how much this made an impression in the bath tub and how much it offered me once I was submerged under the water. It was a really relaxing experience - one that also offered a light, playful, fruity scent that awakened my senses and got me in the mood for the evening's festivities.

I would love for Lush to bring this out as a regular bath bomb as I can see it being a very popular seller. It's the perfect bridge between those who like sweet, floral smells and those who prefer the fruity varieties. I would definitely invest in a few more of these if Lush ever chose to bring them back again and I'll go as far as to say that I actually prefer this fragrance to the likes of Lust
