Mistletoe Bath Bomb

While I would never wish winter upon anybody (I'm very much a warmer weather kind of girl), there is something about the seasonal bath bombs this year that have made me yearn for the cold to set a little earlier than usual. The very idea of bathing with any of this year's ballistics range is enough to make me crave those chillier evenings, but the idea of sharing my evening with this particular bath bomb has got me pulling out my gloves and scarf and trying to summon the snow.

Mistletoe Bath Bomb is a work of art - an intricately designed product that makes you feel almost guilty for wanting to throw it into the bath tub. Those pastel greens and pinks are utterly stunning, and along with Autumn Leaf, set it apart from the brightly coloured designs that every other winter ballistic currently sports.

Sharing its scent with the Silky Underwear range, this limited edition plays homage to one of Lush's oldest and most-loved fragrance lines. Fans from years gone by will relish in their delight that one of their favourite scents has made a comeback in a new format; newer fans will be able to dip their toes into one of the company's oldest and most appreciated smells.

Containing a combination of jasmine, vetivert and ylang ylang, this is a smell that is both sweet and comforting, yet delicately floral and decadent to boot. It is the sultry notes of the vetivert that steals the show here - wrapping your senses in a bouquet of sweet, smoky notes and velvety kisses. It's a smell that mimics what the inclusion of vanilla would normally do but instead offers Lush fans a creamy aroma that is different from the usual tonka-dominated domain.

Alongside the is the jasmine, which is light and delicate and offers users a sensual floral aroma that is both thick yet delicate. Combined with the vetivert, these two ingredients are both calming on the mind, relaxing on the muscles and yet help to heal and soothe weathered skin at the same time. The vetivert is also known as a great relief for aches and pains, so if you've had a long hard day at work, this is the perfect ingredient to slip into a bath with.

What I would describe as a wintery smell, Mistletoe is a not strictly a Christmas scent and I just know this factor will be enough to make a lot of fans want to stock up on this to see them through the year. Even someone such as myself , who was never a huge fan of the fragrance beforehand, has been well and truly bowled over by this brand new product, and I will definitely be purchasing a few more to see me through the colder months.

As if the scent wasn't enough to warm your heart, this beautiful ballistic offers an amazing experience in the bath. Upon contact with the water, Mistletoe begins to fizz and froth - sending waves of pinks and purples, pastel greens and creamy white across the surface of the water. Being a fairly fast dissolver, this bath bomb isn't around for more than a couple of minutes, but what it does in that time is amazing.

The bath water turns a vivid, sultry purple colour, with swirls of pink and white foam painting the surface like a work of art. The creamy, fragrant water wraps its arms around you when you're submerged beneath it and sends out gentle waves of sweet floral that remain prominent throughout the whole experience.

This bath bomb is not at all greasy, despite the water feeling 'thick' and creamy - softening your skin and leaving you feeling radiant and smooth. As if this wasn't enough, the aroma lingers subtlety on your skin afterwards - a great treat for those who head straight to bed and get to wake up with the smell on their pillow the next day.

Lush created this bath bomb to 'conjure up a nostalgic fairy tale fragrance' that has been threaded throughout the company's releases for years, and they have done so wonderfully. For fans such as myself, who would not normally gravitate towards these types of fragrances, this bath bomb has opened my eyes to the beauty of this scent family, and I will definitely be grabbing a handful of these before they are discontinued at the end of the year.

  1. Waiting and dying for all the new stuff to make its way to the US! Would you recommend any bubble bars or bath oils to pair with this? It looks amazing!

  2. I'm looking forward to this one because it sounds as if it would be an upgrade of one of my mostly loved and sadly missed bath bombs, Fairy Jasmine. Can't wait to try it! Mistletoe will surely be the first Christmas item I will use :)
