Two Timing Tart Bubble Bar

Cosmetics, much like people, make their first impressions in many different ways. Some products have beautiful fragrances, eye-catching designs or vivid colours, others get noticed through well-thought out packaging, celebrity endorsements and word of mouth. Where this product is concerned, its name is enough to gage a reaction and entice you to find out more.

Two Timing Tart Bubble Bar is a product that has made only a few reappearances since its initial release in 2005, but has left a large impression on those of us lucky enough to have had the opportunity to try it out. Showcasing a predominantly bright pink body, this is a simple design for a bubble bar, but one that grabs your attention immediately.
Lush describe this bar as harvesting a fragrance of 'fruit tarts with coconut cream, with a touch of aphrodisiac jasmine'. On initial sniff, I can definitely detect a creamy, coconut scent, however I wouldn't describe the rest of the smell as being particularly 'fruit tart-ish'. I can pick out the presence of the jasmine here and the whole aroma is surrounded with the gentle, dry scent of the geranium - it's not as potent or overpowering as with other floral products from Lush, but it's definitely there in the forefront.

There is also a hint of strawberry here, but not a natural, fresh sort of strawberry - more of a synthetic smell. For those of you who've had the opportunity to try out the now-discontinued, Strawberry Santa Shower Jelly, this bubble bar shares its fragrance with this, and it does smell almost identical. Combined, the scent possesses a gorgeous feminine aroma that fills your bathroom and stays with you throughout the duration of the bath.

Although one of Lush's smallest bubble bars, sporting a diameter of just under 5cm, this product can still be used across two baths and produces enough bubbles each time to make it worth your while. As you can see from my pictures, this bar is very easy to crumble, and is actually one of the softest bubble bars I have ever received from Lush. Whether you choose to spread this across two baths, or use it in one, the product heeds a mountain-ful of beautiful bubbles and turns the water an attractive shade of pink.

There has been much debate amongst Lushies as to how best to use a bubble bar, and I've come under a bit of brunt recently, with people commenting on the way that I choose to use them myself. Like every other bubble bar, Two Timing Tart can work in a number of ways. With this one, as it had near-on crumbled by the time I got around to using it, I chose to crumble it under the flow of the water and watch as the bubbles began to increase, ten-fold.

This bar filled my bath with beautifully light and silky-soft bubbles and the lovely pink water only served to add vibrancy to the experience. Unlike a lot of Lush bubble bars, this one maintained it's mountains of bubbles throughout my entire bath, and I even had to rinse myself down with the shower hose when I was finished.

Once I had towelled myself down, the wonderful fragrance stayed with me for a few hours and I could even smell it in my hair the next day. It also left my skin feeling wonderfully soft, as I would expect with all of Lush's bubble bars, while my muscles felt relaxed and well-rested.

I think fans of Dorothy, Mumkin and Ruby Red Slippers will no doubt love this bubble bar, as although they don't possess the same scent, they do all have that gentle sweet, floral element about them. Although this was an enjoyable experience, and I would recommend that people try this if they can, I'm much more of a fan of stronger, more unique fragrances, and I'd rather indulge in the likes of Bathos or Pop In The Bath.
