Five Gold Rings Bubble Bar

This is one of those products that doesn't reveal anything about itself from just looking at it. As it's part of the Christmas collection, you'd assume that it would be a spicy offering with a gentle fruity note, and with The Magic Of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar matching that description and sharing the same colour as this beauty, I had expectations that this would be similar.

As it turns out, Five Gold Rings Bubble Bar is like nothing I can easily put into words - a strange but rather gorgeous aroma that fits in well with the seasonal range, but one that would happily work as a year-round product as well. As the name suggests, this product is made up of five separate golden rings - each about the size of a large chocolate coin, and all of which have been threaded through a piece of orange string to keep them together.

From all of the reviews and discussions online, I was expecting this to be a highly vanillary experience - so I was rather surprised and equally intrigued to discover that while there is a strong element of vanilla present, it doesn't smell like anything you'd imagine it would.

Moringa oil makes up the most part of this fragrance - the ingredient offering a light, spring-blossom flowery essence, while the benzoin resinoid adds a sweet, fruity and almost incensey aroma that compliments the vanilla and tonka and elevates the sweetness to whole new levels.

This is one of those products that needs to be sniffed to get a real sense of what it smells like. To me, I can make out elements that remind me of Twinkle Toes Dusting Powder, Cloak Of Invisibility Bath Oil and aspects of From Dusk Til Dawn Massage BarAlthough none of these products share their scent with the bubble bar, there are little notes of each of these and more in this seasonal release. However, the closest smell I can detect in the aroma of this bubble bar is Hairy Mcclairy Solid Shampoo. Both the shampoo and the bar remind me of each other quite a bit - a light, sweet floral tone with lashings of fruity goodness.

While I initially assumed that this would be a reusable bubble bar, I was surprised to discover very quickly that it's a collection of bars to be used at different times. By the time I realised this, I was already dangling the bars under the water and it was too late for me to revert back on myself, but to use this product effectively, you should break one of these discs and crumble under the running tap like you would a normal bubble bar.

Despite the size of each gold ring, this product yields an impressive amount of bubbles and turns the water into a beautiful, warming shade of orange. Furthermore, the water is incredibly silky-soft and makes your skin feel instantly nourished when you submerge yourself under the bubbles. For the £4.95 price tag, you'll get a good 3-5 baths out of it - making it exceptional value for money.

I will definitely be stocking up on this and would love to use this as part of a cocktail. Having said that, despite my love for the aroma in bubble bar format, I would love to see Five Gold Rings in either shower gel/jelly format and/or perfume format as it would suit these formats so well.
