2015 is definitely the year of the FUN, no matter what the Chinese calendar may claim. With an impressive ten different varieties being released so far, and a further one or two in the pipeline for the coming months, Lush have definitely gone 'all out' with their innovative and very unique multi-purpose bar, and the public have been grateful that they have.
Snakes And Ladders is one of four limited edition Christmas FUNs and one of three brand new editions to this year's seasonal range. Sporting an impressive four colours - yellow, green, red and blue, this stunning looking bar will win over your heart and cement itself as one of the greatest FUNs to be released so far.
Firstly, the fragrance of this is stunning. Packed full of bergamot, buchu and cypress oils, this bar is incredibly fruity - a sultry and rather sweet scent that'll send you over the edge and have you salivating in a matter of minutes. Sharing its scent with the newly-released Respect Your Elders Soap, this delightful FUN bar is not your typical Christmas smell, but it works.
While the scent isn't strictly blackcurrant, it does remind me a little of Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly and fans of The Comforter will probably appreciate the fruity element of this product - the buchu oil making the biggest impression here. To pad the aroma out, the sweet, boozy-esque citric smell of the bergamot oil gives the product a bright, orangey note, while the olibanum oil offers up a thick, sticky and slightly sultry aroma - a combination of incense and chocolate and pine and damp earth all in one.
Although this latter ingredient is very subtle in the aroma so the playful, fruity fragrance is the strongest element, there is something about Olibanum that pads this scent out and makes it stronger and more intricate than your typical fruity smells from Lush.
Much like with most of the limited edition FUN bars that have come out so far, Snakes And Ladders is really easy to use and very generous in the bath and shower. You only need to break off a piece the size of a small grape and this will produce enough suds to last you the entire shower. Simply massage the piece between your palms, allowing a little water to get involved, and the FUN bar produces a mass of silky-soft foam to clean yourself with.
As with all of Lush's versatile bars, this one can be used in a variety of different ways - crumbled under the running tap to aid a bubble bath or massaged into the hair for an alternative to shampoo. No matter how you choose to use this FUN bar, the same results are always heeded; your hair and skin will feel super soft and clean, and the wonderful fragrance will linger on your body for an hour or two after you've towelled yourself down.
Most of my regular readers will have no doubt documented my journey into the world of FUN - starting out as a rather hesitant consumer and slowly converting myself into a full-blown fan. Snakes And Ladders is one of those bars that cements my appreciation of the multi-purpose product, and I can assure you that I will buying many more of these bars before they've been removed from the shelves.

I'm definitely going to be checking this out, especially if it smells a little like The Comforter and Sweetie Pie. ^_^
