Lamb Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb

When you become a regular consumer of Lush, you begin to notice when the company latch onto something that they think is doing rather well. All of a sudden, you're overwhelmed with multiple versions of a concept, and this trend will last a good few months before they move onto something new. Such is the case with their recent creation of the 'bomb bomb': a less than glamorous description of what is merely a product made of two bath bombs stacked on top of each other.

Alongside the Bunny Bomb Bomb, Lamb is one of two limited editions to make themselves known this Easter time, and is easily my favourite out of the two. Supposedly sharing its scent with the now discontinued Thundersnow Bath Bomb, this gorgeous little character sports a beautifully creamy combination of cocoa absolute and peppermint oil. To my nose, this combination offered a smell that reminded me of white chocolate bark infused with a delicate drop of mint essence. 


The fragrance itself is very gentle and musky, presenting itself like a bowl of melted vanilla ice cream topped with mint chocolate chips. While not the first bath bomb to hold this scent, I find the aroma of this to a be a little less minty than the Thundersnow Bath Bomb, and slightly creamier than as well. There is also a delicate note of what I can only describe as being like dried caramel as well, which only serves to make this bath bomb even sweeter. 

What I loved about this bomb bomb was that the mint was super gentle and only mildly cooling, so this is perfect for those who dislike harsher mint aromas. Yet at the same time, the presence of the mint left my skin feeling super crisp and clean-feeling. Furthermore, Lamb Bomb Bomb features a generous helping of soybean flour that not only makes the water one of the most moisturising havens, but leaves your skin feeling and looking simply beautiful.

While I used both parts of this bath bomb together, I would actually say that the combination made the bath a little too much at times. Once fully dissolved, the surface is quite literally covered in a layer of creamy white milk, which rubs off on your skin and makes you feel like you're bathing in an incredibly big tub of milky tea.

Despite how moisturising it was, I was a little disappointed with Lamb Bomb Bomb because the scent vanished very quickly after it had dissolved in the water. In fact, I could barely smell it while it was dissolving, and it disappeared as quickly as the bath bomb did beneath the water. As you've probably guessed, I wasn't then able to detect it on my skin at all, which would have been a nice experience when climbing into bed.

On the positive side, the only thing that has prevented this bath bomb from receiving full marks from me is the longevity and strength of its smell. Aside from this, everything about this bath bomb is wonderful, and I cannot tell you how incredible Lamb Bomb Bomb will leave your skin feeling afterwards: it may even be the most moisturising bath bomb of the year.

My only qualm is that the fragrance doesn't hold well at all in the bath. Were Lush to rectify this, I would gladly give this a full six out of six. It's always great when a product surprises you and becomes a favourite, when you assumed it would pass you by without much of a reaction. And Lamb Bomb Bomb has done exactly that.
