Tangled Hot Oil Treatment

After the positive experience I had after trying out Damaged Hot Hair Treatment last week, I was rather excited to see how this one differed in terms of both fragrance, and more importantly, how it performed on the hair. While I imagined that the former product would suit my hair better because the name implied that it had been designed to cater for my needs, I was very surprised to find that this one left my hair even more amazing, and firmly cemented itself as one of my all-time favourite hair care products.

Tangled Hot Oil Hair Treatment is one of three new solid hair care products that have been designed by Lush to pamper and moisturise the hair in a very intense way. While most people tend to condition their locks every few days at least, this product is for when your mane is in serious need of a deep condition. This, alongside both Damaged and Kinky, offer a treatment that will revamp your hair and give it back its natural beauty that it may have been lacking at the time.

This particular product features ylang ylang, jojoba and rosewood oil - three ingredients that have natural moisturising properties to nourish and replenish both the skin and the hair. Jojoba oil is known to add a natural shine when used on hair and helps to strengthen each and every strand to improve the manageability of your locks; rosewood contains antiseptic properties that gives the hair a thorough and very deep cleanse - leaving it looking and feeling as beautiful as it should.
The treatment also cites orange flower absolute as one of the key components - an ingredient that doesn't do much for the hair itself, but does offer a very pungent, uplifting floral aroma. All of these ingredients combine to create a fragrance that is almost identical to the popular Lust scent - an aroma that you can find in both the Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar and Yes Yes Yes Massage Bar

In the instructions, Lush suggest that you place this in either a mug or in one of their own black pots. I chose to use one of the company's large black tubs and found that this worked perfectly. Using one of these pots not only ensured that the entire product was submerged under the water at all times, but contained the heat long enough to guarantee that the treatment melted exactly as it should.

Simply boil the kettle and pour a little water over the treatment - stirring as you go to help stimulate the solid oils and help to melt them down into a liquid form. You need to ensure that you take your time - adding only a small amount of water until it has completely melted and you are left with a thick, creamy treatment to apply to your hair.
After about 10 minutes, and having used around 150-200ml of hot water in the process, Tangled had completely melted and morphed into a thick, creamy liquid that was perfect in consistency to massage directly into my hair. I would say that you need to ensure the water you use is boiling - anything cooler than this and you run the risk of producing a lumpy paste that hasn't been properly dissolved. I speak from my experience when I say that this will happen!

Once the product has been completely dissolved, you need to apply it generously across your whole head of hair and leave for a good 20-30 minutes to work its magic. This allows time for the hair to absorb the oils and replenish any moisture that it may be lacking - leaving you with soft, shiny and beautiful looking hair.

Although I have shoulder-length locks, my hair isn't particularly thick so I found that I only needed half of the treatment to cover my whole head. I stored the other half in the fridge and was then able to use this a week later - extending the life of this product and making it better value for money.
After washing the treatment out, Lush recommends that you shampoo your hair, just to remove any excess moisture that may linger behind and leave your hair greasy. After doing this and then allowing my locks to dry naturally, I was amazed to discover that my hair felt incredible. Not only did it feel soft, gentle and well-nourished, but my split ends seemed noticeably smoother and my natural highlights were much more pronounced.

How this product differed from Damaged is that my natural waves seemed slightly tamer and the annoying frizzy strands that tend to protrude out from my temples, were all but gone. I didn't have to use straighteners before heading out after using this treatment, and I received so many comments about how amazing my hair looked while I was out with friends. It was a real confidence booster and only served to prove that the treatment had worked.
While my current selection of solid haircare items are keeping my hair in tip-top condition, I will definitely be using the Tangled Hot Oil Treatment once every couple of months to revamp my hair and infuse it with a little moisture to keep it in great condition. This is yet another flawless offering from Lush and one that I hope becomes a regular in both the shops and online.

    2. It depends whether your hair is lacking moisture or protein. To find out, wet your hair, and try to stretch a single strand. If it stretches and stretches, you lack protein. If it breaks right away, you need moisture. If it stretches slightly then breaks, your hair is balanced.

(sorry for posting twice, I had meant to reply directly here and I can't remove my previous comment)

Now as for treatment, they all work well on hair lacking moisture, but Damaged may be the best. They don't have one that will do much to replace protein, but Tangled will help to strengthen your hair.

  5. The exercise of fingernail design has been around for the last 5000 years and can be tracked to the people of Indian who ornamented their claws with henna. Now go toward 1932, when the France organization Revlon launched its first fingernail enhance. It was available in an extensive range of colors and used pigmentation instead of colors. Since the Thirties, fingernail art has come a long way.
