Big Body Spray

I wish for a second that every Lush fan who appreciates the Big scent, could climb into my head and remember how amazing the liquid perfume was, just as I do time and time again. While I am no longer the proud owner of the rare perfume, there isn't day when I don't remember with fondness how incredible it was; how well it replicated the smell of the shampoo; and how long it lasted on the skin. Okay, so maybe that last part wasn't quite true: I honestly don't think about it every day. However, if it ever comes up in conversation, I always remember how much of an impression it left on me.

Earlier this year, during the Lush Showcase event, the company released a limited amount of bath bombs that shared the same scent as Big Shampoo. As this fragrance hadn't been talked about or really showcased across any other products aside from the shampoo and solid conditioner, I was both surprised and excited that I would be able to experience one of my favourite Lush scents in a different format. To say the bath bomb was incredible, would be an understatement.

When Lush announced that Big would be one of the four limited edition body sprays coming out this month, I couldn't contain my excitement. Rather than question why the fragrance has become a focus for the company once again, I instead relished in the thought that I would finally have one of my favourite smells in a bottled format once again. And it didn't disappoint.

Straight out of the bottle, a beautiful wave of orange flower absolute greets your nose like a warm blanket on a cold, winter's evening. There is something so comforting about how fresh and sweet this note is, while also remaining very natural and wholesome as well. Alongside this, a gentle touch of mandarin laces itself around the orange flower, complimenting and uplifting the floral properties while also adding a gentle fruitiness underneath.

To round this wonderful fragrance off, the vanilla absolute adds a comforting hand filled with both muskiness and warmth. Instead of adding its own blend of sweetness, it merely blankets the other components and signs off with a little extra sweetness. Even if I feel as if I've managed to describe this aroma even slightly, I still know that no amount of words will do the aroma justice. This is a smell that you need to experience, in order to understand how incredible it is.

As if the initial smell wasn't stunning enough, this body spray just keeps on giving and giving. Over time, the scent stays just as robust and yet as complex as it does the moment that the spray hits your skin. While it may be a detriment to other fragrances when the aroma doesn't evolve over time, Big offers something unique in the fact that the smell comes together as a whole package. And fans are grateful for this fact.

As to be expected, the warmth of your skin allows Big Body Spray to latch its arms around your body and offer respite for a good part of six hours, at the very least. While I found the scent faded a little quicker than the perfume did, I was still able to detect this on my clothes hours after the initial spray. Coupled with the shampoo, and you could make this fragrance last all day.

Fans of the hair care will most likely agree that Lush have done an amazing job with this fragrance, and I can guarantee that it will inspire many people to reinvest in the shampoo. I for one will be buying a new tub, once I can sort myself out financially. This is easily my favourite of the four limited edition body sprays, and I only wish that more products would come out in their scent.
