Bunny Bomb Bomb Bath Bomb

Last Christmas, three brand new bath bombs made an appearance that caused a bit of a stir amongst the community when they first arrived. Snowman, Princess and Santa Bomb Bombs caused a mild annoyance for some fans, because of the fact that the novelty 'two bath bomb design' meant that the only way you could try these three limited editions out, was if you paid the hefty £9.95 for the privilege of doing so. While many consumers often buy multiples of their favourite seasonal releases, those who have a tight budget were unable to justify spending so much on a bath bomb that they may not particularly enjoy twice.

This year's Easter range sees two more of these concepts being unleashed into the world, which suggest that perhaps the aforementioned three Christmas ones didn't sell too badly after all. Bunny Bomb Bomb is a brand new 'double' bath bomb that has, as the name clearly reveals, been shaped into a bright pink rabbit, with a couple of candy eyes to bring it to life. While not the cutest bunny I have ever come across, animal fans will no doubt love the chance to bathe with, what I would describe as being, a fragrant Roger Rabbit.

Sharing its scent with the Honey I Washed The Kids range, this bath bomb is definitely a sweet and decadent addition to your bath tub. Offering a warm, rounded note of honey, wrapped in a bouquet of orange oil, Bunny Bomb Bomb smells like something you'd want to eat. Alongside this, it has an almost toffee-like note to it, as well as there being a delicate musky scent that finishes it off.  

Although the HIWTK fragrance is noticeably a little more subtle in this format, the recognised key notes that make this scent family so special are definitely still there, and fans of other products with the same smell will no doubt appreciate this release very much. In fact, while one of my favourite bath bombs, I have sometimes found the aroma of Shoot For The Stars to be a little too overwhelming for my liking, so this offers me the same experience but at a more delicate level. 

As it comes in two pieces, it's recommended that you use each bath bomb in a separate bath, especially if you're trying to conserve your Lush products. Each bomb will offer you a wonderful display of pink in the bath tub, and the HIWTK scent will linger in and around your bathroom for the most part of the bath. What's also awesome about this bath bomb is that the fragrance stays on your skin and your hair, long after you towel yourself down.

In the bath, Bunny Bomb Bomb is a very fast fizzer - turning your water into a haven of pastel pink within a matter of seconds. The fact that this limited edition also contains a shed load of popping candy also means that a gentle soundtrack of crackling accompanies you throughout your experience. I found that this helped me to feel more relaxed, and I appreciated the little extra touch that Lush went to with this one. 

While the bombs tended to sink fairly quickly, in my experience, the fragrance and silky soft water meant that I left the bath feeling and smelling simply wonderful afterwards. My hands and face felt like velvet, and the rest of my body looked far healthier than it had done so beforehand. Although I'd have perhaps preferred the choice of buying a single bomb, this seasonal special is definitely a great choice for those who want to top up their Honey I Washed The Kids collection.

Kisskin Bubble Bar

Aside from the physical design, there is no difference between this product and the original Mumkin Bubble Bar. Yet, you would have assumed that Lush were releasing my most wanted item, given how much fuss I made after the announcement that it would be coming into the Kitchen. Despite pertaining an identical scent and working in exactly the same way in the bath, this cutie is more favoured by myself, and sits comfortably at number two on my 'favourite bubble bar' list.

First released in Japan as part of their White Day celebrations, Kisskin Bubble Bar is known as the 'Mumkin in love', and it certainly works its magic at making the user fall head over heels at the same time. Sporting a range of stunning pastel colours, this limited edition features a pink body, purple headwear and chocolate chip eyes - with an array of candy leaf daisies to garnish its head and make it the most beautiful bubble bar that Lush have ever produced.

Containing a combination of bergamot, lemon and violet, this bubble bar offers a glorious floral arrangement, with a sweet, fruity element to make it both unique and highly sensual. This is easily the greatest floral fragrance that Lush have ever released, if not one of the most incredible aromas that they've produced since the company first began.

While it is a scent that I find quite challenging to describe, Kisskin has always reminded me of freshly pureed raspberries with a sort of 'nettle-like' infusion. It's almost as if the green leaves of the plant have been added into the mix, along with the fruit, so you experience a sort of grassiness to the floral aspect of the product.

Upon first sniff, you can definitely smell the presence of the lemon. Yet it is a lovely sweet, fruity lemon - not in any way zesty or citrusy. It reminds me a little of lemon mousse in the fact that there is something rather rounded and creamy about it. Alongside this, the bergamot not only adds a gentle green element that gives the bubble bar its crisp, refreshing properties, but also induces its own layer of fruitiness which helps to create that 'berry-esque' appeal. Finally, the violet leaf offers a sprinkling of muskiness in the background, and rounds Kisskin off for a perfect finish. 

You only need to use half of this bubble bar to create a haven of smells and a mound of bubbles that'll engulf you with their softness. While the water isn't as impressive as a Mumkin - in that it turns a soft shade of purple, there is something very soothing about the shade that adds to the overall experience. 

Not only is this bubble bar really generous with its bubbles, but it's one of those products that makes the water silky smooth to the touch. You only need to submerge yourself for a few minutes to notice how smooth your body becomes, and once you towel yourself down afterwards, your skin feels super refreshed, hydrated and silky-soft. 

What is just as impressive is the fact that the scent is wonderfully robust while also being crisp and light as well. It offers a perfect level of freshness that makes Kisskin the ultimate Springtime bathing companion. Furthermore, it's one you'll want to use whenever the weather seems far too hot for a bath, as it's light enough not to be too stifling in the tub, while equally being comforting enough to offer a well-rounded experience.

Overall, this bubble bar is superb in every way. It possesses a wonderful and very unique fragrance, it's stunning to look at, hydrates and moisturises the skin, and will give you two or more amazing baths that you'll want to relive again and again. Put it this way: I don't ever want to be in a position where I am Kisskin-less.

As I've stated many times before, I am definitely not much of a 'pink' person; I've never had that 'girlie' side of me, and while it was the luscious scent of Snow Fairy that originally hooked me onto Lush, it is be no means my favourite scent from the company.

Having said this, when I had an opportunity to try out the new and improved Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar, I couldn't help but gather up all of the pink goodies I could muster and make a cocktail out of it - thus the Fairy Gold Sparkle cocktail came about.

With three out of the four products sharing the same scent, you pretty much know what to expect when it comes to this cocktail. This candy-inspired experience is a statement of scent and colour - perfect to use before a night out. Not only is it creamy and comforting on both the mind and the body, but it'll perk you up and give you that 'get up and go' that you need before a later night on the tiles. 

The seasonal Magic Wand is a great product for cocktails - a multi-use bubble bar that can either act as an integral part of a cocktail, or be swished around for a matter of seconds to add a note of sweetness to your bath. Scented with a sugary-sweet candy floss aroma, and displaying hints of bubblegum for good measure, this would be suited to anyone wanting to bathe in what is essentially a raspberry milkshake.

While running a bath, simply swirl the bubble bar around in the water, like you would a wand in the air. You'll find that the water begins to turn pink instantaneously and within a few seconds large mounds of silky-soft bubbles begin to form across the surface. Although the new design is etched with silver lustre, I didn't see any trace of this in the water. 

Containing both marshmallow powder and synthetic musk, Mmmelting Marshmallow Melt has a wonderful soft and rather playful aroma - like raspberry bubblegum intertwined with a touch of vanilla and a little hint of fruit. While I love Snow Fairy, I find this bath melt to be far more wholesome and creamier than the shower gel. 

Both the cocoa butter and the almond oil not only make this really moisturising in the bath, but offer a really creamy experience in the tub. You only have to drop it into the water to watch it get to work immediately - spewing out thick waves of pastel-pink foam that coats the surface of the tub and creates what looks like a fluffy, cloud-like bath to submerge yourself in.

Finally, I added in a generous chunk of Snow Fairy Sparkle Massage Bar, which is definitely not my favourite product by a far stretch, but does melt very much like a bath melt in the water, and does leave your skin feeling amazing, once you've bathed in its waters. 

Although the obvious choice would be to finish off with Godmother, I opted for Rock Star Soap as I wanted something a little more rounded. This wonderful soap left my skin with a gentle but sweet vanilla fragrance, while the other ingredients offered up some much-appreciated candy goodness. 

While I'm not normally in the mood for cocktails of this nature, I really enjoyed this one and would definitely use this again when I'm looking for that sweet fix.

Candy Cane Bubble Bar

During last year's Christmas Kitchen releases, Candy Cane Soap was one of the products that made the biggest impression on me. While I'm not really an advocate for soap, the combination of cherry and mint was an instant hit, and I was left rather disappointed that I hadn't bought a few more bars before it had sold out.

Although I would consider myself fairly knowledgable when it comes to Lush products, I try not read about too many older releases in case I discover something that I desperately want. So when I heard that Candy Cane Bubble Bar was making a reappearance, my immediate thought was that it would feature the same wonderful scent, and so I ended up buying a generous amount to use and savour.

Unfortunately, upon arrival, I realised very quickly that the smell I could recognise through the wrapper was not the same as the soap - instead giving off a sweet, sugary vanilla fragrance that mimics that of Rock Star Soap and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. Despite being beautiful in itself, I was a little disappointed by my findings.

In the wrapper, I found that this seasonal bubble bar was slightly sweeter than its older sibling - I could smell a strong note that was very similar to Snow Fairy Shower Gel and this made it slightly more appealing to me. The product had the usual sweet, tonka-dominated fragrance, but I felt as if it was fruitier and more refreshing than other Creamy Candy products.

As I usually do with my bubbles bars, I crumbled this one under the running tap and was immediately engulfed with a strong aroma that stayed present throughout the whole experience. Some might say that the smell of this could be slightly cloying because it is so strong, but I happen to like how thick and creamy it is in the bathroom.

Much like both the original Creamy Candy Bar and Bunny Bubble Bar, Candy Cane turns the water a pale pink colour, and creates a mound of fluffy bubbles that act as a warm, fragrant blanket once you're under the water. These bubbles stay present throughout the whole experience, and can be used to wash with as well. 

Despite how vivid the pink is on the bubble bar, I was little disappointed to discover how little colour actually makes itself known in the water. While I'm not always fussed about this if the scent of the product is strong enough for my liking, I was expecting a much more vivid pink colour than what I got. 

On the positive side, the bath water felt lovely and silky without being greasy, and my skin stayed soft and smooth for many hours afterwards. Furthermore, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could smell the sweet, candy-inspired fragrance on my skin for good few hours, as well as on my pillow the next morning.

Overall, it is far from a terrible product, and I would probably use it again alongside other bath bombs/melts. However, when I compare it to other bubble bars, this one doesn't fair as well as them, which is why I would not use it again on it's own.

After having an urge to bathe in the waters of the Blackberry Bath Bomb, I was a little unsure about what to pair it with in the tub. While its sweetness rivals that of most bath bombs and bubble bars, it's not your typical sugary-sweet offering, and I wanted to make sure that it didn't get thwarted by any of the other products that I used alongside it.

After scouring through my book of cocktails, I stumbled across the recipe for Berry Bush Bath, and knew that this would be the perfect cocktail to not only satisfy my sugary cravings at that time, but also to utilise a selection of Lush products in the best possible way. And boy did I reap the benefits.

This cocktail is a great alternative to the typical 'girlie' bath (and I hate using that saying because there's no such thing as a gender-specific bath). However, when people talk about creating a pink experience in the tub, you often get a sense of what the outcome of that experience will be.

This cocktail is not only far richer and more decadent on the senses, but it caters for the more mature bather - one who is looking for something sweet and wholesome but not necessarily your clear-cut 'Snow Fairy cocktail'. 

Begin by crumbling a third of a Comforter Bubble Bar under the running water. This best-selling beauty fills the tub with an abundance of creamy, frothy bubbles and turns the water a deep shade of pastel pink.The buchu oil and cassis absolute gives off a stunning fruity, blackcurrant aroma - easily one of the best fragrances that Lush have ever produced. 

Once the water has finished running, add in the Blackberry Bath Bomb - a product that shares its scent with the Sultana Of Soap range and gives off a creamy, fruity aroma made from dried sultanas, apricots and olibanum. To begin with, I wasn't overly keen on this product, and it took a good few attempts to warm to its fragrance. However, I now find it one of the most unique aromas going and wish they'd bring out more products with its scent.

The bath bomb combines with the Comforter perfectly - deepening the colour of the water to an alluring shade of purple and adding its own layer of sweetness to the mix. Not only this, but the ballistic is very moisturising and you can see how silky-soft the water becomes when the light bounces off of the surface.

Finally, add in the Razzle Dazzle Bath Oil - an Oxford Street exclusive that paints the water a shade of psychedelic pink and adds essential oils to moisturise and replenish the skin. This melt not only reverts the water back to a deep pink colour, but dominates the scent and creates a bath that smells very much like raspberry ripple ice-cream.

To finish up with, wash yourself with a generous slab of Respect Your Elders - a stunning grape and blackcurrant soaps that compliments all of the other elements of this cocktail and seals the deal in making your skin feel, smell and looking incredible.

This is easily my favourite sweet cocktail - it's rich but not cloying and offers something a little more than the one-dimensional baths you often get with some of Lush's candy-inspired products. As all of these products are regulars, with Razzle Dazzle permanently available in the Oxford Street Store, I shall have to stock up and use these before a night out. Pure bliss.
