Celebrate FUN Bar

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with the Snowshowers scent. While I love the smell - it's everything I look for in a fragrance, it just doesn't seem to come across very well in a lot of the formats that Lush tend to bring it out in. Although I love the shower jelly, shower gel and body lotion, I didn't find the recent perfume releases to be much to write home about. So I wasn't expecting much from the limited edition FUN bar.

Celebrate FUN bar is rather pretty to look at and is rather unique when compared to most of the other FUN bars that Lush have released. Containing a generous helping of snowflake lustre, this bar is presented as a shiny, metallic-looking white bar. While it looks almost silver in the pictures, it definitely has more of a pearl complexion in person.

While it contains the same base ingredients, I immediately noticed that this one was slightly different in consistency than the other four limited edition bars. Celebrate is definitely a little drier than the other FUN bars - it breaks much easier and crumbles under the running water, when none of the other four did. This wasn't a problem and didn't take away from the usability of the product, but it did offer a slightly different experience in the shower.

As with all of the other Snowshowers-scented products, this one gives off a wonderfully light but zesty citrus aroma. With orange and lime oil in the ingredients list, this bar offers a very natural fruity smell that's reminiscent of ripe tangerines and sweet white grapes. All of this is rounded off with a generous dash of cognac, which helps to soften and smooth out the citrus smell and make it slightly creamy, without tainting it with anything that resembles an alcoholic smell. It's a very gentle scent - one that is supposed to play homage to expensive champagne.

As with any other FUN bar, you can use this in an array of different ways. Firstly, it can be used much like a bar of soap or a shower jelly - being rubbed across the body to clean and soften your skin. Celebrate was very easy to lather up and it left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth and soft. However, it did tend to crumble a little when being used in the shower so you should be careful not handle it too much for fear it'll disappear down the plughole. Furthermore, I couldn't detect the smell at all after I had exited the bath so it's a very short-lived aroma.

Secondly, this can be used in place of a bubble bar - held under a running tap to create a surplus amount of bubbles and a beautifully fragrant bath to enjoy. I will say that this is probably the weakest out of the five limited edition FUN bars - the water didn't really change colour that much and the strength of the smell didn't compare to either the Golden Wonder or Supernova bath bombs. My opinion is that it would be worth using this to replace your shower gel or soap and using the aforementioned bath bombs if you're looking to experience the scent in the bath.

While Celebrate FUN looked and smelled gorgeous, it was definitely not my favourite to use in the shower. Having said this, it wasn't a bad experience by far; just not as impressive as some of the other FUN bars that I had tried. Fans of this scent will no doubt love this addition to the family, but I'll be sticking to Snowshowers Shower Jelly for my fix of this wonderful fragrance.
