I cannot honestly tell you why I decided to leave Jade Roller Naked Facial Cleanser to last, out of all of the naked face products brought out as part of October's Lush Labs release. There was nothing about the smell or design that made me think I'd appreciate it even less than the others, but trying this out for the first time the other day, I'm awfully glad that I DID leave it until the end.
Sporting a moss-green colour, with a sprinkle of mung beans littered just under the surface, this naked facial cleanser looks like it could all end in a mess if you're not careful. The fact that it melts within a few seconds of being in your hands could also reiterate the point that things could get very sticky with this off disc of various oils. However, you should be quick to forgive Jade Roller because it is quite simply the best naked facial cleanser that Lush have brought out to date.
Firstly, the smell is definitely not one that I would call beautiful, yet neither would I describe it as being in any way bad. Peppermint oil, rose water eucalyptus, chamomile and clary sage oil all go into creating the fragrance of this naked cleanser, so you can probably imagine just how potent the scent is to the unsuspecting nose.
To me, the smell that resonates the most is the clary sage and eucalyptus. There is something rather herbal that immediately engulfs your senses, and then something immediately after that I can only describe as being 'clean'. While the peppermint is not its fiery self, there is definitely a thread of mint running through the cleanser, and the other ingredients all make themselves known as well. While you'd expect these scent-heavy ingredients to clash greatly, they actually all compliment each other and offer something a little herbal; something a little green, a little earthy; and something that's warming and rounded, yet very natural at the same time.
What makes this cleanser so amazing is the array of ingredients that Lush have included here. Firstly, the mung beans themselves create a gentle exfoliation when the disc is being massaged across the face, which not only helps to coax away any dirt and debris but also helps to increase the circulation of blood around the face - instant radiance!
Next this naked facial cleanser features both macula and hazelnut oils. Both of these combined not on give the cleanser astringent properties to give the skin an appearance of smoothness, but the former is also known for helping to give the skin some of its elasticity back, which is winner for malnourished, winter-kissed skin.
While the vinegar gets to work at cleansing the complexion, the generous helping of rose water not only helps to soothe and calm the skin, and prevent it from reacting to the acidity of the vinegar, but it also whilst also acts as a toner. Together, every ingredient featured here has an important role to play, and together they create a masterpiece.
What I found with Jade Roller was that you only needed to massage it across your face for a few seconds before placing it somewhere cool to harden. This disc melts with ease, and it would be very easy to apply too much. As it's also a very oily cleanser, too much of this and you'll probably oversaturate your face, causing it to be greasy for the rest of the day.
After applying this, I was amazed by how amazing my skin looked and felt. Not only was it silky-soft and radiant to the touch, but there was almost a gentle glaze across my whole face, which remained there for the rest of the day. I would probably say that those with oilier complexions may wish to be careful when using this cleanser, as it would be very easy to 'over do' it with the amount of oil that's featured here. However, for those of us with dried skin, Jade Roller is an absolute godsend.

After only one single use, I noticed a vast improvement in the condition, feel and look of my skin, and within a matter of days my complexion was simply glowing. Although I didn't really witness the cleanser removing too much dirt from my pores, I did notice how immediate the affects of the product work upon wiping away the excess oil. This is definitely one that it going to remain with me as long as I can keep it going, and I hope that Lush bring this out again in the near future.
As of now, my little 35g disc is showing no signs of getting any smaller, and I've been using it for the past two weeks. Once before bed, and once again first thing in the morning, and my face is ready to face the day. This is easily the best naked facial cleanser that Lush have brought out to date.

When Lush created their range of naked facial cleansers, they probably didn’t anticipate someone travelling halfway across the world, to Africa, to put them through their paces. Obviously, this wasn’t the sole reason I decided to visit Tanzania for three weeks, but with so much dust around, and with very limited means of washing yourself, this trip would challenge these facial cleansers to the max.
As the name suggests, these little 30g nuggets of various oils and butters are designed to cleanse your pores and leave your complexion as clean and as clear as possible. At the same time, the ingredients ensure that some moisture is absorbed back into the face so that your skin is replenished straight afterwards.
Gritty Politti stood out for me straight away because the consistency was very different to the other variations on offer. Containing small grains of coconut shell throughout, this facial cleanser offers a gentle exfoliation as well as removing excess dirt and debris from within your pores.
When massaging this disc across my face, I could feel the grains gently scrubbing away at my skin. This left my complexion looking a little more vibrant and there was a noticeable difference between how smooth my face felt before and after using this product. Of course, I wouldn’t say that this was super impressive as a scrub, but it does offer something a little different from the other naked facial cleansers that Lush have created.

When it came to Gritty Polliti, I found that this facial oil was not only a little greasier than I initially anticipated, but it did leave a little bit of a mess which was annoying to clean up afterwards. Let me explain. Usually I would use a facial cleanser after my shower, to remove any dirt that may still be present in the poresand to leave my face gently moisturised and replenished. After using this facial cleanser however, I found that the little pieces of coconut shell were a little stubborn to remove when I tried to wipe them away with a cotton pad.
Although it works a little better with a wet pad/cloth, I still didn’t feel as though my face was thoroughly clean afterwards. For this reason, I’d recommend using this before showering, so you can clean out your pores first and then use a little of the water to ensure that the product has fully left your skin.
Furthermore, Gritty Politti does tend to leave your skin feeling a little greasy, even after you’ve wiped away the excess product with a cotton pad. So I would again advise using it before a shower so you can remove at least some of these excess oils under the running water.
While smell only plays a small importance when it comes to choosing a facial oil, this one offered a gentle scent of coconut (and sandalwood?): nothing potent enough to offend even the most sensitive of noses.
Ultimately, this facial cleanser isn’t really one that is suited to my face, even though I thought that my dry complexion would benefit from a little extra helping of butters and oils. Having said this, the affects of Gritty Politti lasted far longer than most of the other naked facial cleansers, and I can imagine lots of people would enjoy this for the gentle exfoliation it offers on top of everything else.

As someone who lives in one of the biggest and most crowded cities in the world, my skin has had to get used to the extra helping of dirt and grime and smog that gets thrown its way almost every day. While of course not what I want, it’s a fact of life that I have to accept if I want to continue living here. However, there are always ways that you can improve the condition of your skin, and Lush’s new range of facial oils could be just the ticket.
The idea behind each of these exclusive naked discs is that you use one instead of a liquid cleanser. Simply massage across your face, with either the disc itself or with your hands; leave on your skin for five to ten minutes; and then wipe the excess product away with either a cotton pad or a damp cloth. The combination of different oils and butters that have gone into each of the facial oils not only help to clean out the pores and cleanse the skin, but also leave your skin feeling smoother and softer, and sometimes more radiant as well.
When it came to Sleepy Face, I fell in love immediately with the little facial expression that had been carved into the surface of the disc, and couldn’t wait to try this one out on my face. The smell was also the gentlest out of the array of facial oils that I had at the time, which compelled me to use it first as my face had just conveniently broken out in spots and was in need of some serious help.
Lush describe Sleepy Face Naked Facial Cleanser as being ‘a softening blend of Fair Trade organic cocoa butter, balancing jojoba oil and gentle almond oil meets fragrant and reparative French lavender’. This should give you some idea of what the miniature disc both smells and feels like on the face, because the description is spot on, in my eyes.
A little under 4cm in diameter and about a centimetre thick, Sleepy Face is one of four facial oils in this shape. Sporting a light shade of pink, thanks to the inclusion of the beetroot juice powder, this delicate naked oil smells primarily of lavender. It’s a soft, gentle and rather simplistic fragrance that reminds me a little of both Golden Slumbers and Dream On Bath Bombs. It’s a very natural and slightly herbal aroma - offering a lavender aroma that is naturally sweet and rather graceful on the senses. Then there is the added oat milk which adds a beautiful but rather subtle creaminess to the overall scent.
Aside from the fragrance, the oat milk and the almond oil is what helps to give this facial cleanser its light but very moisturising consistency. When massaging this across my face, I could feel how gentle but very compact the oils and butters were from the start, and the product coated my skin with ease. To begin with, it did feel very slightly greasy, and I worried that my face would find the facial oil too heavy.
After leaving this on for roughly five minutes, I used a dry cotton pad to wipe the excess oils away, and I was surprised to find how much excess dirt came off in the pad. Even when I used this directly after a shower, I was still able to extract a good amount of ‘stuff’ from my skin, which only served to make my complexion feel much cleaner and clearer.
Furthermore, my skin felt smooth with just the tiniest hint of the butters remaining on the surface. These absorbed into my skin over the course of the day and left my complexion feeling really rejuvenated and supple.
As I stated above, I also began using this not long after I broke out in spots. By the second day of using this cleanser in both the morning and evening, I found that the redness of my spots had completely cleared, and within 3-4 days the spots had completely cleared up. In addition to this, I chose to use Sleepy Face after couple of intense days in the African heat, and what I discovered was that it effectively soothed the redness on my nose and cheeks; stopped my skin from itching or peeling; and I awoke the next day without any traces of sunburn or irritation.
The only downside I found with this naked facial cleanser was that the colour seemed to fade within a few days of me using it, and white spots began to form all over the surface within a few days. I think exposure to the air is what caused this so I would recommend storing it in a container or wrapping it in something to prevent this from happening.
After using this first thing in the morning and before I went to bed, every night during my stay in Africa, I can safely say that it helped my skin to be as clean as it could be, given the amount of dust in the atmosphere. It also allowed me to prevent my skin from reacting to the intense heat, and kept my complexion smooth, soft and feeling clean.
Nearly three weeks into my regime and the little disc has only mildly shrunk in my eyes, and I can see this little beauty lasting me another couple of months easily. Sleepy Face should definitely become a regular in the shops because I would add this to my daily regime if it did.

Banana Skin is by far my favourite smelling facial cleanser out of all the ones released this month in the Lush labs. Not only this but it also happens to be one of the best, and here’s why...
Containing a generous amount of fresh banana as one of the main ingredients, this fruit is packed full of potassium to moisturise and replenish the skin. Not only this but bananas are known for their ability to soften the skin and give it a natural shine as well.
Alongside this, the inclusion of the various oils and butters, in particular the mango butter, creates a facial oil that is very easy to melt, and very buttery on the skin. I only had to glide this over my face for a few seconds to stimulate enough product to moisturise my whole face. To finish off, Lush have used tapioca starch which helps to settle the oils on the skin, and leave a smooth finish.
What I will say about Banana Skin is that it is quite a heavy moisturiser. The consistency of the oils when they melt are quite thick and greasy on the skin, and they do take a long time to fully absorb. In addition, I found that it took a good twenty minutes for the slightly glossy feeling to leave the surface of my face, which some consumers would probably dislike.
While my skin looked super radiant for the rest of the day, as well as feeling amazingly supple and plump from the very first use, I can imagine that this wouldn’t soon suit those with already quite oily/greasy complexions - especially not on a daily basis. With how heavy this product was when compared to others,
For someone such as myself, who has rather dry skin, this was a godsend - giving my complexion so much life and radiance immediately. Especially as the weather is starting to cool down, I could really notice the difference in how much fresher and vibrant my face looked in the morning, as opposed to the dull shade it was beforehand. Given how dry my complexion is, I was able to use this daily without there being a build up of oils. Neither did I find that my pores became saturated enough to cause a breakout at all, with daily use.
To use, you simply glide the disc across your face, where the warmth of your skin will melt the butters and oils and leave behind a layer of product behind. You could also massage it between your fingers first and then apply, as your hands are usually warmer, and tend to stimulate the oils easier. However, I found that you tend to lose some of the product this way, as it absorbs into your hands before you’ve had a chance to apply it to your face. Having said this, if you want to remove some of Banana Skin’s heaviness, this process would probably help it to be a little less intense.
Smell wise, this little beauty smells of fresh banana custard to me, which a little sprinkle of icing sugar to add a vanillary note alongside this. It’s not a smell that’s overly strong, but there’s enough there to make it a pleasant experience, and the effects it has on the skin more than confirm how wonderful this facial oil is.
Despite its size, this little disc has barely shrunk since I began using it, and would easily last me over three months with daily usage. The price may seem a little much for how small it presents itself as. However, the strength it had to transform my skin in a single use, and the effects it showed me very quickly make it a keeper. I would definitely buy this again, if it ever became available to buy regularly.

Lush have the annoying ability to know exactly what you need, even if you don’t realise it yourself until it’s too late and by then you’re too hooked. Perhaps that’s why they’re incredibly successful: they’ve secretly discovered a way to read the consumer mind, and are now one step closer to world domination. Not that many of us would mind if they were.
As I’ve found so many times: one moment I could be innocently experimenting with a new release, and the next second I’ve been using it for six months straight and panicking at the mere thought that I might run out in the near future. Such is the case with many of the recent naked facial oils that have come out in the Lush Labs.
As the name suggests, Argan Naked Facial Oil shares its scent with the Rose Jam range: a beautiful combination of rose and lemon that intertwines together like two lovers on their wedding night. They’re a perfect combination, working in perfect unison with each other to offer a bright, uplifting and very beautiful aroma.
How this differs from the likes of the Rose Jam Body Spray and Black Rose Bath Bomb is that the lemon is a little more prevalent. While the rose presents itself as a sweet, syrup-like floral fragrance, this format features a little extra lemon to intensify the fruity element and give it uplifting properties more so than many of the products in this scent family.
The inclusion of both the date syrup and the argan butter certainly make an impact on the overall aroma - not to mention lending their services to make this naked facial oil incredibly nourishing on the skin. Coupled with the cocoa butter, there is also something very buttery about the smell. While I wouldn't say that I could detect the chocolately element of the cocoa butter, there was something almost nutty but much smoother and sweeter than I was expecting from this smell.
What is great about Argan is that firstly it appears to be one of the only Lush products to contain prickly pear oil. After doing a little research on this miracle ingredient, I discovered that this component is known for its high content of vitamin E - which is exactly what you're looking for if you want your complexion smooth, toned and looking the best it has ever done so.
Alongside, this the generous array of butters and oils work at leaving your skin replenished, nourished and definitely far more moisturised than I have seen my face in a long time. Yet, what is so incredible about this facial oil is that it is not heavy in the slightest. If you're expecting something greasy or oily, or perhaps even too heavy for your skin, think again.
I found that Argan Naked Facial Oil glided over my face with ease, leaving behind traces of the product which I then massaged gently into my skin. It was really easy to use but didn't immediately melt when placed into my hands, which was definitely a welcome bonus. Whilst you can melt the disc between your fingers and then apply, I find that some of the product is lost as it gets absorbed into your hands instead.
Yet once it was on my skin, it was absorbed very quickly, and I wasn't able to detect any of the oils or butters a mere thirty seconds after I had applied it. Having said that, my face appeared immediately more radiant; my cheeks were glowing and appeared plumper; and the effects of this lasted me for a good few hours.
Let's be honest: it cannot do the job that a cosmetic surgeon can do, if you want to completely change the skin on your face. However, for a small disc of butters and oils, it made a huge difference, without being problematic in any way. I cannot imagine it irritating many people's skin at all, or creating a build up in the pores, as it was super light to use.
Ultimately, this facial oil would suit all skin types, although I would probably say that if, like me, you have a fairly dry complexion, you may wish to try something a little heavier to gain extra moisture. While I may have loved Argan, and I would buy it again if the opportunity arose, I can understand how, especially in the winter months, consumers may be looking for something a little more intense on their parched skin.
Argan Naked Facial Oil does its job perfectly, and the inclusion of the rose absolute will ensure that your skin won't be irritated: it fact it may even calm it down. This would be the perfect facial oil for those with sensitive skin, and those who want something that impacts their complexion without being too heavy or greasy.
Now that Lush have me hooked, I don't quite know how my face is going to survive when I run out of this little beauty. If only they could read my mind once more and realise how important it is to bring this out as a regular item. These facial oils are definitely a naked idea worth getting excited about.

When you haven't had something, you cant miss it, and this is what I told myself when I missed out on buying the exclusive naked facial oils that Lush brought out earlier this year. While I did manage to grab Sky 79, I tried not let my disappointment of missing out on the others take away from the privileges I was experiencing through travelling. You can imagine my elation then when I saw the little cuties being displayed, and on sale, at the Showcase event earlier this month.
While I am not one to wear make-up, Lush have always been known for the versatility of their products. So I was not put off at all by the fact that Amazon Primer was initially created for those who enjoyed the indulgence of wearing make-up. If anything, the fact that I didn't even wear concealer most of the time meant that I would be able to test out the other uses that this limited edition had to offer.
While the name of this primer is taken from the cupuacu and the murumuru butters being sourced from the Amazon jungle, there is a part of me that links Mark Constantine's feud with the billion pound company of the same name. Somehow I don't think the name of this is just a coincidence.
Having said that, these two ingredients do an amazing job of moisturising and conditioning the skin at the same time. After applying this two to three times throughout the day, I could visibly see how hydrated my complexion was beginning to look, and my skin only took a couple of days before there was an element of vibrancy about my complexion that I hadn't seen in a long time.
Alongside these two ingredients is a dosage of arrowroot powder. This not only prevents the product from being too greasy on the skin, but also allows Amazon Primer to offer a more matte during use. After massaging this across my face, it didn't take more than about twenty seconds for it to be absorbed into my skin - which is perfect for those who then wish to apply concealer and foundation without having it run or not set properly. For me, it was a great way to give my face a little more radiance, without putting too many oils and butters into my pores. The lemon oils helped my skin to appear brighter without looking at all shiny, and worked well to cleanse my pores at the same time.
To apply, you can either melt a little between your fingers and then smooth these across you face, or you can apply the little oval block directly onto your skin. I found that the latter way was much more effective because massaging it between your fingers means that you lose some of the product due to it being absorbed into your hand first. And while the shape isn't the most cleverly designed tool for application to reach in the hardest of places, it's not exactly rocket science to use the primer well.
While this wouldn't apply to me due to the nature of my complexion, Amazon Primer features a green pigment that not only colours the product as we can see, but helps to neutralise flushed cheeks and reduce the appearance of redness, so those with irritated skin should find that this compliments there skin very well - with or without make-up being applied afterwards.
While my nose recognises this scent, my brain is yet to get its act together and figure out the familiar aroma that Amazon Primer offers. What I will say is that the orange and the rosewood are very competitive in this format. You can smell a strong, almost bitter orangey aroma, alongside of which the rosewood throws in a heavy amount of woodiness. This is not exactly the prettiest of smells, which is just as well because the fragrance doesn't last on the skin for long. Although there is also tonka absolute in this facial oil, very little of that made its way to my senses.
Overall, this is a great primer for those looking for a matte base, or hoping to smoothen their skin out before applying their make up. For those like myself who are interested in ways to moisturise our complexion, this is far less intense than some of the naked facial oils, and would definitely suit those with more oiler complexions.
Although the size and the price tag may avert consumers away from the investment, this little oval would most likely last upwards of six months, with family usage. So little is used each time that I reckon I'll be using this for nearly a month before I notice any change in size. This is definitely a winner in my eyes.

While I consider myself fairly knowledgable when it comes to music of most genres, I'll be honest and say that I had never heard of the band Sky until I decided to research why Lush had decided to name one of their facial oils Sky 79. Needless to say, I've been enjoying their upbeat melodies ever since, which makes the price of this facial oil so much better value for money. You cannot put a price on discovering awesome music.
Sky 79 is one of five facial oils that have been brought out in limited batches at both the Lush White City store, and the recently opened Naked Superstore in Milan. As a collector of all things Lush, I am a little disappointed that I have not been able to get my hands on the other four at this point in time, and I can only hope that make an appearance really soon so I can curb my itch.
Made from a base of illipe butter and murumuru butter, this limited edition already boasts some truly powerful ingredients to improve the condition of your skin. This combination works at creating a base that stays solid at room temperature, but which immediately begins to melt upon contact with the heat of your skin.
What I found interesting about this particular facial oil is that when you initially melt the block down to massage is across your face, the oils seem fairly light on your skin. However, once the oil has had a few seconds to settle and begin absorbing into your skin, there is a short period where the product feels a little heavier. Having said this, I don't wish to put people off by stating this latter fact and letting them think that Sky 79 is going to leave your skin feeling heavy. This feeling is very temporary, and it is because of the inclusion of both the Japan wax and the carnauba wax that the facial oil does this.
What is great about this little oval gem is that is contains a generous helping of chamomile, which is perfect for those with sensitive complexions. This essential oil ensures that redness and irritation will be reduced after using this regularly, and it won't inflict any further reactions because your skin will appear much calmer.
Smell-wise, this little block of oils has a delicate smell made up of both floral and herbal elements. You can smell a gentle sweetness from the geranium and neroli, while the chamomile offers a calming herbal offering, and the guaiacwood brings a soothing layer of woodiness. Whether you like the sound o this fragrance or not, I can honestly say that there is nothing offensive or particularly strong about this facial oil at all. I cannot imagine anyone disliking this smell at all.
After using Sky 79 for a number of days in a row, I began to notice a gentle radiance begin to form around my cheeks and across my forehead. As someone who genuinely suffers from dry skin, no matter how much liquid I ingest throughout the day, I can never get my face to look naturally supple and vibrant. Lotions tend to clog my pores up and make my face feel heavy after use, so I usually just have to accept that I'll rarely enjoy good-looking skin. However, after using this regularly, I could definitely see a difference in the appearance of my skin, and indeed my pores.
What was also impressive was that despite applying these powerful oils to my skin daily, and sometimes twice a day, my skin never looked or felt greasy, and never caused me to break out in spots. When compared to a £30 tub of 'miracle facial moisturiser' that I see lining the local pharmacies, this is definitely much better value for money.
Perhaps I should have pointed out at the beginning that while all of Lush's facial oils appear to be rather small, and extremely light, given their hefty price tag, unless you're biting off chunks and eating it while you're applying the oil, this little token will easily last you upwards of six months, with daily usage.
Ultimately, I am rather impressed with this little block of butters and oils: Lush have yet again proven that naked products can work (and replace) liquid alternatives, and I will continue to use this until I have the pleasure of being presented with some more to try out for myself.

Firstly, the smell is definitely not one that I would call beautiful, yet neither would I describe it as being in any way bad. Peppermint oil, rose water eucalyptus, chamomile and clary sage oil all go into creating the fragrance of this naked cleanser, so you can probably imagine just how potent the scent is to the unsuspecting nose.
What I found with Jade Roller was that you only needed to massage it across your face for a few seconds before placing it somewhere cool to harden. This disc melts with ease, and it would be very easy to apply too much. As it's also a very oily cleanser, too much of this and you'll probably oversaturate your face, causing it to be greasy for the rest of the day.
