It's rather ironic that I find it difficult to incorporate lip products into my daily routine, when my lips are one of the main places on my body that I suffer from the most. Out of habit, I tend to find myself picking the skin off of my lips without even realising I am even doing it, until I'm suddenly aware that my lips are sore, dry and bleeding, and once again in need of some serious TLC.
This year alone, Lush have released a brand new lip scrub for every one of their main seasonal collections. Eve's Cherry follows the biblical theme of Adam's Apple Mouthwash Tabs, and offers consumers an absolutely stunning lip scrub that does exactly what you'd want it to do, and more.
As with every one of Lush's lip scrubs, the key ingredient is caster sugar: a natural exfoliant that not only removes dead skin and debris from the lips, but helps to make the process a little more tasty and enjoyable. Along with a few essential oils, this little scrub will hydrate, soften and plump out your lips, with regular use, and leave them noticeably smoother and healthier.
Alongside the sugar, Eve's Cherry contains cherry kernel, buchu oil and lime oil: three ingredients that go into producing the most wonderfully fruity, and downright delicious sugar scrub. There is something so mouthwatering about this aroma, which reminds me very much of old fashioned cherry drop sweets.
Many consumers were wondering whether or not this limited edition was similar in fragrance to the popular Happy Blooming Shower Jelly. While it's understandable that these two products have been compared, as they both offer cherry aromas, I found that this lip scrub wasn't as sickly sweet and was slightly more sugary to my nose.
Fans new to Lush might want to know that to use, you simply need to scoop out a tiny amount with your finger - rubbing the scrub all over your lips in a circular motion. The best part is that you then need to use your tongue to lick off the excess sugar, which leaves your lips looking less parched and weathered, and feeling a whole lot better than they did a few seconds beforehand.
Although this, as with all of Lush's lip scrubs, is completely edible, and safe to do so, I wouldn't suggest that you scoop out masses and eat it by itself. While a small amount on the lips does taste rather yummy, I can safely say that these scrubs don't work as a replacement for a regular dessert.
Yes, I will say that all of Lush's lip scrubs can be a little messy to begin with, and you do occasionally end up with stray pieces of sugar smeared around your mouth. However, it really isn't that hard to contain to product to one area of the mouth, and after a few attempts you will figure out yourself how to contain the product to your lips.
For £5.95, this might seem like a big investment for such a small tub, but it will last you a very long time, even with daily application. These little tubs can be carried around without any spillages, and are sturdy enough that they can't be smashed whilst in transit.
Overall, Eve's Cherry is yet another yummy edition to Lush's impressive lip scrub collection, and one that I hope makes a reappearance in the future. Paired with Cherryish Body Scrub in the shower beforehand makes for a wonderful treat before bedtime. Just saying.

What's not to love about a banana? Funnily enough, for years I opted out of eating bananas in favour of other fruits, only to fall back in love with the big yellow gem when I began training solidly at the gym. There is something so unique about the flavour and texture of this fruit, that I simply couldn't imagine not eating them to the extent that I now do.
When I first discovered that Lush were going to bring out a massage bar called Big Banana, I was really excited to find out how close in scent it was to the fruit itself. Brushing over the cheeky connotations that came up alongside this release, I was super excited to try something that I was told had a similar scent to the Sticky Banana Soap - a product that I'd previously been unable to try due to the inclusion of honey in the ingredients list.
What I found when my massage bar arrived was that the smell was nothing like I was expecting it to be. As opposed to the sweet, natural banana fragrance I was expecting, I instead found something that almost smelt like a combination of banana and blue bubblegum ice cream. Don't get me wrong, the scent of this is in no way synthetic smelling, and there is no way I'd describe it as being at all playful or childlike. However, I think the inclusion of the clove bud oil was a little too domineering, which pushed the other components to the side and created an odd overall aroma.
There is definitely a creaminess about this, hence my ice cream comparison, but there is also something rather prominent about the clove which takes away from the smooth, velvety smell that this massage bar could have offered the consumers. Luckily, the clove does tend to disperse a little when massaged across the skin, and there is something quite sultry about the fruity side of this massage bar that comes out more when in contact with the warmth of your body.
As with all of Lush's massage bars, the idea behind this is to use this in replacement of a bottle of massage oil: either gliding this directly across the skin, or massaging between your palms and then using your hands to direct the oils where you'd like them to go. If, like me, your partner doesn't particularly enjoy giving massages, you can also use this bar in replacement of a body lotion, and if will offer similar results when it comes to moisturising your skin.
As far as usability is concerned, Big Banana did melt with ease across my skin, and I found that I didn't need to hold it for long before I had enough oils to work with. These absorbed really quickly into the skin and I was able to put my clothes back on within ten minutes of application. This was especially great after my morning gym session, as I was able to nourish my skin for the whole day, and not have to wait around until I could head into work.
When using it like this, across my whole body, on a daily basis, I was able to stretch the use of this to a little over two months. This makes it great value for money when compared to a pot of body lotion that would probably last a similar amount of time. While not as intense as a body lotion, Big Banana was suffice at keeping my skin looking and feeling really smooth and replenished, and I barely had to reach for a lotion to intensify my experience.
Having said that, I did find the shape of banana to be a little tricky when trying to apply the oils, and once the massage bar started to shrink in size, it did become a little more difficult to hold the product while it was in use. However, I really appreciated that I was able to use the tip of the banana to stimulate certain muscle areas that were aching after my workouts: something I wouldn't have been able to do with other shaped bars.
Overall, I enjoyed using Big Banana for the short time it graced the shelves of Lush, although I would have appreciated a fragrance that wasn't so heavily doused in clove. While it can be a little oily if too much of the bar is melted at once, it's very easy to apply and leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft afterwards. The only thing that I would say this limited edition is not so good at is penetrating the driest areas, such as the bottom of your feet and your hands, so you may wish to use something else to improve the condition of those parts.

Every so often, Lush releases a scent that impacts on the community so much that you can almost feel the buzz of the chatter behind the screen of your phone. When Golden Pear Soap first made an appearance, you could tell within a matter of days that something big was about to go down for the avid consumers.
Since the release of that seasonal soap a couple of years ago, Lush have continued to bring out more and more products with the same fragrance. Some great, some not so great, but I can honestly say that Open Your Heart Bubble Bra is what Golden Pear Bath Bomb should have been, but better.
Containing orange, sandalwood and cardamon oil, this limited edition bubble bra is succulently fruity yet equally grounded as well. My nose picks up the smell of sweet stewed pears which is both warming and refreshing. Alongside this, there is a delicate note of the cardamom and sandalwood that gives the bubble bar a gentle woodiness as well.
Given its design, Open Your Heart is definitely one that will make a mess if you don't store it properly, and as I suggest only using half of this for each bath, so you're going to have to place it somewhere carefully if you do the same.
In its favour, this limited edition is super easy to crumble, and the thick centre of butters that stick the two ends together, really help to give the water a boost of extra nourishment which you skin will thank you for. I found that the water was beautifully sultry throughout, and the impact it had on my skin was instantaneous.
Having said that, I was rather disappointed to discover that you don't get a lot of bubbles for your money. Whether this is because of the generous helping of both cocoa and murumuru butters, or a predict default, Open Your Heart didn't heed that many bubbles, even when I swished my hands throughout the tub. The bubbles that I did manage to create didn't stick around for too long afterwards either, which was a shame.
Despite this, I was really impressed by the strength of the fragrance during my bath. While it was never going to be a scent that engulfed the entire room, I was able to sweet the note of sweet pear throughout the whole bath, and the smell even lingered on the ends of my hair for a short time afterwards. Compared to Golden Pear Bath Bomb, this bubble bra offered so much more, and was much closer to the original scent than both the bath bomb and the body spray that was released a couple of months ago.
Overall, I think this is a lovely edition to the Valentine's Day this year. A little more scent and a little more bubble action and I think I might have rated it much higher than I did. However, I can recognise that this will be a popular purchase this season. This will definitely be one that I buy again before they disappear.

If there's one thing glitter does, it divides the Lush community very quickly, and can sway a consumer within seconds as to whether or not they want to invest in a product. Those who dislike glitter would have probably taken one look of this reusable bubble bar and run screaming from the shop. Although with reactions that adverse, we doubt these people would even have ventured into a Lush store to begin with.
Love Token Reusable Bubble Bar is a lovely idea in theory: a bubble bar with the words 'Thank You' etched onto the surface and coated in a beautiful layer of golden lustre. For all that they do for us, a partner or friend would be grateful to receive one of these as a token of our love for them - unless that person is the aforementioned glitter phob.
To be honest, I wasn't overly excited about the prospect of this bubble bar for the sheer fact that it supposedly shared its scent with the Gingerbread Man Sparkle Jar from the Christmas range. While I really enjoyed the fragrance of said sparkle jar, ginger is one of my least favourite aromas to smear all over my body, and so the idea of bathing it didn't exactly spark my interest.
When I received Love Token, I was actually taken back by how much stronger the smell is to that of the sparkle jar. While the Christmas product was fairly mild and mellowed out on the skin, this Valentine's Day release is much spicer and stronger.
The ginger is definitely the most prominent element of this smell - offering a dry, spicy and very strong ginger aroma. Combined with the clove bud and guaiacwood oil, the fragrance of this is very spicy with warm woody elements underneath. While this is a Valentine's Day release, this wouldn't go amiss as part of a Christmas release: it's definitely a very comforting smell.
Despite its size, this little golden token will offer you three rather lovely baths. Simply hold Love Token under the running tap and it will begin to produce wonderful golden yellow water, as well as cover the surface with an array of light, fluffy bubbles. As a disclaimer: if you wish to preserve some of the glitter on the surface for future baths, you may opt to cut this bubble bar into smaller pieces, and just use a single piece at a time.
While reusable bubble bars are never as moisturising as a regular bubble bar, I was impressed to find that the water felt very sultry and slightly 'thick' across my skin. Although I moisturised after exiting the bath, my skin felt really soft after I had towelled myself down, and it was definitely more nourishing than some of Lush's more recent variations.
Scent-wise, this reusable bubble bar made a strong impression in the water, and I was able to detect the ginger throughout my whole time in the whole tub. Having said that, I wasn't able to detect any of the aroma on my skin afterwards, which is where Gingerbread Man Sparkle Jar would have come in handy.
While very small and seemingly expensive for its size, Love Token produces the same number of baths as any other reusable bubble bar would. The scent is definitely different from most of Lush's more fruity, citrusy smells, so I did appreciate a change-up in the bath, and it certainly helped me to unwind after a long day at work. Having said that, the fragrance wasn't ever one that was going to blow me away to begin with, and the bath wasn't impressive enough for me to invest in another one.

As someone who watches television on average about once a month, I have never once been sucked into watching the Love Island series. Not only does it hold the same appeal as watching paint dry to me, but I just simply don't have time to commit to any sort of series to begin with. Having said that, I thought that Lush were once again pretty witty with the reference used for this brand new product.
About the size of one half of a bubbleroon, Love Island Body Scrub is initially an anticlimax, and may have some consumers worried about the longevity and usage of something so small. While not overly expensive, £3.50 does seem a stretch for something that looks as if it would fall down the plughole very quickly. However, I can safely say that this little trooper has an impressive amount of life in it, and will serve you a lot longer than you might think.
Sharing its scent with the Love fragrance, this Valentine’s Day special combines bergamot, jasmine, lemongrass and rose together to create a strange but alluring combination of floral, green and fruity properties. The jasmine is definitely the strongest component here: offering a rich, sultry and slightly intoxicating silky-sweet floral aroma.
Alongside this, the lemon and bergamot combine to create something that smells similar to that of soured apple syrup, while a touch of cinnamon laces these components together and adds a sprinkle of warmth underneath. In my opinion, this is definitely one of those fragrances that can inspire a very strong negative reaction. The jasmine is super potent especially, and there are many who cannot stand the aroma for this very reason.
What I will say about this scrub is that this potency remains on your skin long after you've towelled yourself down, and I found that I received a couple of compliments about my 'perfume' a couple of hours after I had used Love Island in the shower. If you enjoy this fragrance, using this is a great way of coating yourself in a blanket of your favourite smell.
What is special about Love Island is that it's made from a combination of sugar, salt and sand. So not only does the inclusion of these three prevent the scrub from being at all fickle or easily breakable, but it also offers more benefits for the skin as well.
If you decide to use this as a whole piece, I would highly recommend that you don't hold it directly under the water, otherwise you'll use a lot more than you probably planning to. Once wet, it will happily rest on a soap dish or in a tub without dismissing or crumbling, and I found that I was able to get four full-body uses out of it this way. Furthermore, using the product this way heeded a very coarse scrub on my skin, which was perfect for me as I love to apply a lot of pressure and really scratch my skin when I scrub.
If you want something a little less intensive, the best idea is to cut the scrub into four pieces and then crumble each piece whilst your massaging it across your skin. This way you can reserve the rest without it getting wet, and you can be in more control of how hard you exfoliate your skin.
Either way, you'll need to rinse the bath tub briefly afterwards, as the sand tends to remain around the plug hole, and you'll definitely need to moisturise. Whilst Love Island features aloe vera to both cool and calm your skin, the sand, salt and sugar will leave your skin in need of some much needed moisture.
Long term, I would love to see the option of buying pots of this scrub, already crumbled - much like the Life's A Beach Scrub Lush released a few years ago. However, this is definitely a lovely inclusion in this year's Valentine's Day range, and Love fans will no doubt appreciate the sentiment.

Having used this every day since it arrived on my doorstep, I can honestly say that I have given the Valentine's Day edition of Avocado Wash Shower Gel a solid chance to prove itself to me. Despite what consumers have already written about this limited edition, I wanted to experience it fully for myself, so I could write a fair and accurate review. And if I'm truly honest: this shower gel is rather a let down.
Back in 2018, Lush released a whole array of limited edition shower gels, as one of their first introductions to the 'community favourites' section on their website. Avocado Wash was one of the fragrances chosen to be made into a shower gel, and the outcome was simply beautiful. Everybody would no doubt agree that the company did well at replicating the scent in the bottled format, and there was a reason why the shower gel sold out so quickly.
Fast forward to the beginning of this month, and fans were elated to find that their favourite shower gel was coming back as part of the Valentine's Day range. Not only would it be more accessible and available for longer, but Lush were also offering it in multiple sizes. A win win, right?
The problem was that as soon as fans began to use the shower gel in the comfort of their own homes, they realised that the scent was 'off'. The company have since stated that because they've brought it out in greater quantities, they've had to alter the recipe slightly, and this has caused an uproar because it simply doesn't smell like the original Cowash or the original shower shower gel.
If I'm honest, I've left writing this until near the end of my Valentine's Day reviews, for the sheer fact that there were so many conflicting statements online, and I really wanted to experience this product for myself before I made any comments on how my experience with the limited edition went.
What I will start by saying is that Avocado Wash Shower Gel does not smell like any of the aforementioned products in the same fragrance family. Yes, there are definitely links between the two, and I think if Lush had bought this out as a completely new product, there would have been a lot of comparisons made between the two. However, the smell of this is not true to the Avocado Cowash family that the community have grown to love.
From the bottle, my first experience was one of burnt caramel, which I was initially excited by. However, once this shower gel is in the palm of your hand and being lathered over your body, the smell has a very burnt note to it, which I don't think compliments the fruity element all that much. To my nose, there is clearly far too much olibanum in the mix here, and rather than offering a warming base underneath, instead takes over and is far too toxic.
Avocado Wash is really thick so you don't need that much to clean your whole body with. It lathers up really easily; produces lots of fragrant foam to massage across your skin; and leaves a lasting impression on the body afterwards. As far as shower gels go, the consistency is one of the best that I have experienced in a while from Lush, and doesn't separate like the original bottle that came out late last year.
However, if you're a big fan of this aroma, there is a chance that the smell of this will disappoint you, as it's not true to the original scent at all. If you're trying to decide whether to go for the naked shower gel or this, the solid version definitely smells a lot better but this one is far more productive in the water.

Since the introduction of Lush's naked products, every new shower gel now seems to come with its solid counterpart - which is great for those consumers who want more options, but not so great for the humble bloggers who now have their workload doubled. With each and every one of the naked gels and creams that I have tried so far, not one of them has been better than their liquid sibling - that is until I tried this one out to size.
Avocado Wash Naked Shower Gel is one of a whole string of Avocado Cowash scented cosmetics to have come out over the last eight months. It seems as if this has become one of Lush's more sought after fragrances, and with good reason. The smell of this limited edition is simply gorgeous.
To my nose, this naked gel smells almost spot on to that of the original 'shampoo' that Lush brought out a few years ago. Drippings of litsea cubeba and bergamot oils give this limited edition a wonderfully rounded fruity smell. It's like a warm, wholesome lime smell, with just a touch of green from the bergamot.
Alongside this, the inclusion of the olibanum oil adds depth to the smell by infusing the fruity note with a rich but delicately resinous note. I wouldn't for one second say that the aroma is a smoky one, but there is almost a subtle burnt caramel note that just thickens out the fruity note a little, and makes the overall scent more wholesome.
When compared to the liquid shower gel that has been released alongside this, the naked version has definitely stayed true to the original scent, and holds a much better fragrance overall. In fact, many fans of the smell may choose this version over the other, for the sheer fact that this naked shower gel replicates the aroma far better.
Much like many of the recent naked gels that Lush have released, Avocado Wash is rather soft and slightly squidgy to the touch. Although it’s robust enough to last a few months with daily use, its consistency means it is prone to making a bit of a slimy mess on whatever surface it’s resting on. For this reason, I would highly suggest that you think carefully when considering how to store this in between uses. Having said that, the naked bottle does dry fairly quickly, so you don’t need to worry about patting it down after every shower. However, it needs to be stored somewhere dry otherwise it'll just remain a slippery mess for days on end.
Although this naked gel lathered up rather well, I did find that I needed quite a generous amount between my palms to do so, which meant that the bottle did look noticeably smaller after the first week. While I think that one of these would last a good 1-2 months with daily usage, I don't think it would outlast that of a 250g bottle of the liquid gel.
Whereas some creams and soaps don't leave me feeling as clean as a shower gel would, this naked gel was easy enough to massage across my skin, and I did feel clean after rinsing it away. What impressed me even further was the fact that the scent did linger on my skin afterwards, for at least an hour, and there was almost a gleam about my skin that made it look radiant.
When it comes to choosing between this and the liquid shower gel, there are definitely going to be some clear divides within the community. Whereas the liquid shower gel works better and lasts longer, the fragrance of the naked gel is replicated better and is far more beautiful than its bottled counterpart. It's a tough choice for sure, but I actually think I prefer the naked gel this time around.

As far as the American Cream fragrance goes, I've always wanted the original conditioner to be veganised: the very idea of a conditioner that smells that good on my hair would be a dream. One of my all time favourite bubble bars, I Am 10, also happens to share that scent, and to bring this back would be one of the most exciting things that Lush have done in years.
So when I saw that Lush would be making this year's Valentine's Day range American Cream heavy, I was really excited about the prospect of showering myself in this delightful fragrance for a good many months. This is an aroma that I always get a craving for every few months, so to have these new products to indulge in is a real treat.
American Cream Naked Shower Gel is one of four products from the range that shares the same fragrance, and easily replicates the original smell far better than the two variations of body conditioner that have come out alongside it. It also happens to offer a scent far stronger than the body conditioners, and stands up next to the liquid shower gel in many regards.
For those unfamiliar with the scent, American Cream smells like a bouquet of strawberries and cream wrapped in a hazy floral bubble. To describe it as simply 'strawberry' would paint it in a bad light because there is far more going on in the fragrance for sure.
My nose recognises the strawberry element straight away. However, at the same time there is a dry and very musky layer of vanilla absolute alongside this. At the same time, the lavender brings the floral element to the scent, without taking away from the 'strawberry milkshake' element that Lush were going from. It's a sophisticated and very beautiful scent that lasts on your skin for a long time after using any of the products with this smell. There is something about the nature of this fragrance that gives it longevity, no matter what format it's presented in.

However, I did need quite a generous amount between my palms to clean my whole body, which meant that the bottle did look noticeably smaller after the first week. While I think that one of these would last a good 1-2 months with daily usage, I don't think it would outlast that of a 250g bottle of the liquid gel.
Whereas some creams and soaps don't leave me feeling as clean as a shower gel would, this naked gel was easy enough to massage across my skin, and I did feel clean after rinsing it away. Interestingly enough, I found that this naked shower gel was actually a little more moisturising on the skin than the liquid version, which is probably because of the extra oils that feature in the product.
Ultimately, this is another naked shower gel that I have enjoyed using but one that I wouldn't invest in, in the long run. While I love the concept of naked products, I'm still a little too in love with my shower gels to make the full switch from liquid to solid just yet. As the liquid version is rather lovely, I will just continue to use this, and then use one of the body conditioners to moisturise afterwards.
