Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar

As I continue to expand upon and improve my blog, I am always checking on old entries to see if I need to add or change pictures or reword some of the descriptions. Very occasionally I discover that I've not even reviewed a product at all - a revelation that shocked me a little with this bubble bar as it's one I have been using religiously ever since Lush first brought it out a couple of years ago.

Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar has everything you could ever wish for in a product - it's gorgeous to look at - sporting a cute Mario-style mushroom design with a red body and white spots. It also offers users an incredible scent - a sweet strawberry, vanilla and jasmine combination that smells so good you'll struggle not to gobble it up.

Lush claim that this bubble bar has two different layers of scent and both of these are very prominent in the overall aroma of the product. Firstly, there is a rich, musky vanilla fragrance which sits in the stem of the mushroom and gives off a warm, comforting and very natural smell. Then on top, the red section smells like fresh strawberries and jasmine - a sweet, almost grassy combination that adds an uplifting fruity smell that is simply wonderful. When used together, Magic Mushroom smells like a sophisticated strawberries and cream. It has that mouthwatering dessert element to it but it also has layers of jasmine that make the fragrance that little bit more complex. It shares it's scent with the popular Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Gel - a fragrance that works so well in this format.

The bubble bar is easy to use and is one of the better value ones. It's very soft to touch and crumbles with ease so just be careful that you have somewhere to store the crumbled pieces until you need them. If you break it over the bath, you may find that you lose a great deal of it in the tub.

Despite it's size, I divided this into three parts and used it across as many baths - all of which heeded an impressive amount of bubbles. Even better was the fact that the bubbles were frothy and velvety-soft in the tub - staying with me throughout most of the bathing experience.

The bubble bar turned the bath water a gorgeous shade of red and the fragrance remained prominent throughout. On first getting into the bath, I noticed that the water seemed quite thick and creamy, and after my bath I noticed that my body felt really smooth and well-nourished. The multiple oils that feature in this bubble bar work well at pampering tired and weathered skin - it's a perfect companion during those long winter evenings.

The only downside that I found was that the scent didn't stick around for long on my skin, which is surprising given it's longevity in the tub. However, for the £3.50 price tag, the amount of baths I got out of a single bar and the wonderful experiences I had, this is one of the best bubble bars to come from Lush and I would definitely stock up on it, if it ever came back.
